This might be a little clearer:

Thanks ! (or should that be Tanks ! given the circumstances)

What Dave!!! And risk the beer!!

Exactly - Dave has not thought this through yet - you don't see Supply Bases leading the attack in COTA do you ?

Better to put some rocks in his pack. Eddy pull the beer in a wagon and keep your distance.

Me carrying the beer ? - why do you think we invited Marc Schwanebeck to come along ? [;)]

Okay Dave, since I've got your attention....not to rush or anything....but what are your thoughts on BftB development?

Minimal at the moment. There's this big peice of paper attached to my forehead with big letters on it that read "FINISH COTA"[:)]
Will we see a campaign type system?
No
Any possibility of a PBEM enhancement.
Not likely.

My focus will be to release this within six months of COTA. That will only allow room for adding the new Minefields code plus maybe a few minor things. PBEM and campaign features are not minor. I'm not going to be moved on this unless someone wants to pay for the development of them.

There seems to be a rush of foolishness appearing on this board recently.

1 When I say “walk” the battlefields I mean get driven round the battlefields. My plan is that, if there is any walking to do, my subordinates are capable of doing that; I intend staying in camp guarding the booze, pointing at maps with long pointers so that I can remain in a prone position, and barking orders at anyone within earshot.
2 Eddy has the weight for mine clearing without extra encumbrances.
3 Dave will understand that we are doing this, to give him a break from our constant moaning and in order to give him a free run at finishing COTA. Not to upset him. Though if it does that too, then that’s a bonus.
4 Simovitch, I know you mean well but that path looks as though it would spoil my shoes and possibly rip my suit. Dear, oh dear. Whatever next.
5 MarkShot, I go more as the GOC rather than some squad leader, therefore youth and fitness don’t enter into it. (See 1 above.)

Now, let’s hope that all is now clearer.
Cheers
Wolfe R A (GOC from the rear)

"guarding the booze" is the only thing I'm a bit doubtfull about in the above paragraph. Just to make sure I'll bring along my 2 ferocious dogs to guard the stuff.

Well, it was a wild guess as I seriously don't know what GOC means - GeneralOberst Commanding ? [;)]

Well, I think the battle of Trois Ponts should be included ... along with the Schnee Eifel and just forget Bastogne - nothing there happened really!!!

Yup. General Officer Commanding. In the British army usually a Divisional Commander or Major General. However, Eddy, in order to avoid confusion you may just call me sir. How's that?
Now run along old boy, I need my shoes cleaned, my belt blanco'ed and make sure the Bollinger is cold tonight ... last night it was decidedly warm ... yes, I know were under constant shell fire at the front, but we mustn't let our standards slip, otherwise we'd be no better than the Blasted Boche.

Yes, we do not show enough appreciation for you, Maj Gen Wolfe, the hero who kept Canada British by defeating that bloody Frenchie Montcalme. Btw : is that wound you got in 1759 still playing up ? [:'(]

Do you really think I would alow a Frenchman to wound me? It would be such a dishonour I would have to kill myself.
Have you done my kit yet?

The latest edition of PC Gamer (UK version) did a fair-sized article on wargaming and they were extremely complementary about Panther Games and a few other groups. On that basis they should hand COTA a very good review, which will help it along. Within also lies a few words of wisdom supplied for the article from Arjuna. So evidently he's not too busy to do the odd interview. [;)]

Yeah, May, it came out within the last week. It's got a front cover devoted to 'Battlefield 2142'

So, basically what you're saying is that it takes several months of editing work to make something comprehensible out of them ... for the average Brit [:D]

Don't miss the Panthers in Houffalize and Grandmenil, the US Halftrack at the bridge in Stavelot, The M4's in clervaux & La Roche (also an M10 Wolverine), or the collection of vehicles in Poteu & Bastogne Museums. just to name a few...
