I'd be more than happy to take you guys on immediately as testers to help me figure out this current bug as well as the testing of the game.

I'd love to test also, if you are seriously looking for testers. I know a fair bit about the period, though I've never played a WWI era computer game.
I do have a good cable connection, though, if that would help.

Matrix is going to set up a playtest forum and download area etc. Will take a couple of days. Then we'll grab a team and get rolling.

Volunteers needed to face the Guns of August!
The Guns of August are starting to rumble and the earth is starting to tremble. What does it all mean to you? The guns are getting louder and closer and now we need a strong Beta Team of volunteers to do some reconnaissance and probing of the front lines to check for strong points and weaknesses. You can now be a part of this exclusive Beta Team!
If you believe that you have the time and skills to complete your reconnaissance mission of the Guns of August, please email the following information to me:
*Name
*Your Matrix Forum Name
*E-mail
*Phone Number
*Your address
*Previous Testing Experience?
*Any comments on specific qualifications or reasons for interest in testing the Guns of August?
*Any unique qualifications that would make you an exceptional candidate for the Beta Test Team?
*Your current PC Specs - CPU, Memory, Hard Drive, Video Card, Sound Card, Operating System?
In return, I will send you a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) that you must complete, sign and return to me ASAP. Just follow the instructions on the bottom of page 2. When I receive the NDA, you will be notified and allowed to participate on the GoA Beta Test Team.
But, be sure that you are able, ready, and willing to join the Beta Test Team in May, 2006 and stay with it for more than a few weeks.
Regards,
Karlis

If I can help I would like too to participate in a beta testing.
I have experience playing board games (and time ago a testing) and I like games about WWI.
Too, I have experience in software and some knowledge of history.

Good news - we have a beta that is currently being tested for release to the team and barring any problems will start off the beta testing. Those of you that signed up and were accepted to the team should be hearing more either today or tomorrow.

At this point, we have enough for the current beta team. However, if you want to send in your info we'll put you on the waiting list.
Beta testing has started and we'll fill in any additional applicants as tester attrition takes its normal course.

- Erik

For those who fancy the odds : average beta tester attrition is about 20% per month as reported recently by someone from Matrix Games (might even have been you)
Personally I'd recommend it as an experience you're not likely to forget and you'll soon find out if you've got what it takes (time, stubborness, pinch of crazyness, ...) [;)]

How is the beta testing coming along? I faxed in my completed NDA form and also a couple e-mails to follow up on it but so far, nothing from Matrix. I know that you folks are busy but if this is how you respond when you ask for help, then I fear to find out what your customer service might be like when a customer has a problem. I mean, in reading through the forum for about two years, I se how tight lipped this company is. Well, I am still willing to help out but I do have limits

borisbadenov,
The beta testing is underway and all testers have been added. When did you fax in your form and send your follow-up e-mails? The beta test coordinator is out today, so if you faxed and e-mailed over the weekend, you won't get a reply until tomorrow.

- Erik
