Well it's July 5 on the east coast Australia in a few hours, so I expect to be one of the first you contact. [:D] Those cheatin' Kiwis and Western Samoans (I think) get to hear first! [:@] [:'(]

They ain't got white-man's magic yet. [:D]

And if they have, the kid who pedals the bike-powered generator that powers the 486DX is in bed. [:'(]

Electricity. I was joking of course.

I used to work with an aircraft technician who was from an Indian background. He thought it was hilarious when I would say stuff like "That's white-man's magic you're using there fella".

When he came to the squadron we asked if he had a nick-name that he preferred.

Him: "Yeah, EJ"
Us: "Why EJ?"

Him: "It's short for elephant jockey"
Us: "Hahahahaha!"

He had a good sense of humour.

Cheers, Neilster

Don't forget Neilster, a sense of humour has been replaced with PC.

The fact that I get called The Tartan Tosser at work (being from Scotland) doesn't bother me a jot....but I have still got my sense of humour.

Thanks, David. I'm really looking forward to it. SSG seem to have some magical potion for great games.

Anyone who knows anything about this? is it using a new engine or is it a major upgrade of the DB engine? Or just a new game using the old DB engine?

Could be, but an update of Carriers at War would be nice too.

New engine it appears.. taking the best elements of the DBWWII engine.. but designed from the ground up based around Battalion level battles - it says in their news item.

Well this sounds excellent. It addresses most of my minor complaints with the DB engine. I am really looking forward to getting this game. I had all but written off SSG until this.

Drat, just what I needed, another good news item, involving a great looking product, which will only serve to magnify my "I wish I could have it" burden :(

Looks like a nice product though, and the part about it being packaged with several battles is likely going to make it very popular with the "I want more than one battle" crowd.

I've enjoyed what SSG has made so far, I have no reason to think this design will be any less than what I have experienced.

And it sure looks like my wargame list will be a long one come this christmas.
On a positive note, I guess multiple choices will mean I can say to the wife "pick one, put name in a box, wrap it up, and tell me that's my gift" :)

I'm glad for SSG and might even pick this one up. But to be honest I was hoping for a revamped Carriers at War. Perhaps one with a campaign mode or additional scenarios covering the South Pacific. Or at least a mission editor so we can make our own scenarios. Its been 13 years! Won't someone think of the children and give us a Carrier game?! [;)]

Well with SSG revisiting one of their very first products (Battlefront), maybe they are working their way through updating their catalogue.. so maybe they will get to Carriers at War, Europe Ablaze and War in Russia :)
