Thanks for the suggestions Canuck35. I did wonder about the possibility of showing a battle pan out. It would be good to see and show the game off nicely. Maybe I'll try such a thing for BFTB [:D]

As to the review quotes - they can easily be added if necessary. I'm pretty sure that after the bulk of the reviews are out there will be lots more great quotes to choose from and some well known webpages/magazines to quote the source. Rest assured though, the quotes are qenuine and the full reviews can be found at the COTA webpage [:)]

Let me add a little bit of a (maybe overcautious) advice: European consumers laws might actually require you to give the exact source (e.g. title of the magazine and issue/year) of any quote you use in advertising a product and might regard the lack of this information as misleading advertisement.

That wouldn't be a problem, as my guess is that the file's residing on a US or 'OZ server, so it doesn't have to satisfy EU laws anyways.

.....It's rather like it's a widely accepted procedure to name the sources, be it general literature (especially history), a political magazine or even a game magazine etc.etc.

The source of the historic pics might be more of a problem, regarding copyrights, if they haven't been taken from the public domain pool. In this case, PG or/and Mr. J. W. could be sued/charged. [:D]

Well, since COTA is actively marketed through the Matrixgames store to customers who reside in EU member states, EU laws will apply. But if you tell me that the enforceability of these laws would present a problem, I agree ... [;)]

Well, general enforceability EU-wise would be another topic, but that approach might still miss the point: [:)]

Since a community video and its contents, for them hosted on the distributor's (Matrixgames) homepage, don't deal with contents of the game in any way, judicially, even if Digital River offers payment support (including the corresponding national VATs) + game delivery EU-wide, and even if the downloadable version of the game would be stored on servers located at/near Digital River's various subsidiaries in the EU.

Again, laws in the US (I guess the COTA site resides on a US server), not in the EU, would be violated, in case the video contained non-PD material. Incomplete credits (regarding a list of sources) wouldn't violate any law over here. Funny thing is, incomplete credits (regarding appearances, or workers on the production side) in a Hollywood movie would violate contracts placed between Major studios and film technician unions in the US of A. [:D] But still....no law there as well - regarding sources....afaik :p

It might be covered by copyright laws, in a marginal sense, if you quote longer passages without the author's consent....this would apply in the US and the EU.....but I doubt that someone would really insist on getting credits for a single line.
[:)]

Where are you from?

Terrific video. It is true that it doesn't really go a long way in explaining / showing the game dynamics, but it is certainly impressive. Great job.

Just a question (probably a silly one): what is the name of the font you have used?

Cheers,

RedDevil

* added a "/" between explainin and showing which I forgot... [:)]

Neat video, indeed :D

I'd love to know the name of the font, too.....

Btw, I just spotted a typo in the video, it says Malame, should be Maleme I think.
