Though I see that others would want to replace an established player (re: Babe Ruth).

Yeah, it's really not a huge deal for me, and Babe Ruth is the only player I've ever needed to do this with. In PS 2005, you just ended up with player cards for two different players who happened to have the same name, which I thought was fine.

The way it is now, if you start an historical association before 1919, you have to leave Babe Ruth as a pitcher for the entirety of his career--which is interesiting, too--but miss out on the batting statistics from a potential all-time home run leader. It really wouldn't be a big deal to me if it was any other player.

Ok, just had this brainstorm, and would love to see it get sneaked in under the wire...

We don't have in game box scores yet (a suggestion for 2008), but I'd love the ability to look at my lineup in game and know how they have been doing so far in the game. Mogul actually does this pretty well with a "0-2, K" or "2-2, 2B, HR" next to each player on the lineup card, instead of their year to date stats.

How about when you wave the mouse over a player in the lineup card, it would show you that information for a player? Best of both worlds!! [:)]

Wow, that's a great suggestion!. I always sim innings 1-5 and play out the rest. I have often thought it would be great to know how my players have done up to this point in the game. Who has the RBIs? etc.

On the modify roster and lineup screen

Any chance to add a lefty and righty splits stats filter on the Lineup box vs Lefty and Lineup box vs. righty?

As of now the lineup vs R and lineup vs. L box only shows overall stats.

This way we can filter if we want to see overall stats, vs. lefty stats and vs. righty stats.

I'm sure some, if not most, of this is for the next version, but I'll summarize quickly and repost in the 2008 thread, so that for sure it's going to be in the right place ONCE! <G>:
  • in the pitching register, it has every batter who pinch hit for a pitcher listed there, with all stats obviously zeroed, except for Games which shows the actual total GP. I'm not sure if this is a bug or just the way it was designed.

Would it be possible, to have these players listed as PH (same thing exists I believe in the boxscores as well, but could be wrong, can't check yet since just started the new season) and not show up in the pitching register?
  • I'd love to see drag and drop capabilities on the roster screens. to move a guy from 2nd to 9th in the batting order and move everyone else up, I have to move him spot by spot down the order, one spot at a time.

If drag and drop isn't possible, or is too much too add easily, I'd like to be able to insert a player in a lineup/bullpen spot and be able to exchange 2 players in the lineup/bullpen/rotation
  • Would it be possible to have an option of showing the pitchers hitting stats as a group or as individuals?
  • scrollable PBP
  • Ability to view boxscore/gamelog during a game.
  • Any chance of perhaps getting a team's magic number included in the standings?
  • using beta 1.17 and later that using the keypad, the #2 button does not attempt a steal of second, but rather a sac bunt. Quite a nasty surprise [:)] Any chance of being able to use the keypad instead of the numbers on the top of the keyboard?
  • MOST IMPORTANTLY: I've been playing Puresim since year one and with this newest version, I am going to have to request that you somehow find a way to add more hours to my day!

A couple gfrom other threads that were never answered, which I continue to have problems iwth in sandlot mode:
ORIGINAL: Claymore Cut

A problem I have noticed in sandlot mode is that some of the time if you delete a player, then re-import him (for instance, you might put him on the wrong team) you get a run time error that locks up the game. This has happened to be several times. I am running beta patch 1.18

Thanks!
ORIGINAL: Claymore Cut

Importing players to a specifice team in Puresim can be a bit tricky. The problem is, only the city of the teams are listed, so if you have multiple teams in the same city, it can get very confusing as to where you put the player. I even tried to change the city for Example to New York AL and NL, but on the import player screen it still came up as New York.

Would there be any way to list the Nickname along with the city to allow users to import players to teams a little easier?

Thanks!

I may have missed some one posting this but....... on two base errors every time I've seen it the runner/batter only takes one base.

That was fixed in the latest patch, at least it was for me and at least one other user.

I've requested this long time ago. Would love to have this. Also I would like to see the stats being updated during the game. Like RH batters may be 3 - 20 against a pitcher at the beginning of the game, I'd like to see that updated to where he's 3 - 21 and then 4 - 21 etc.. Same with batters I would like to see their 45 - 90 vs RH part updated during game.

I love that magic number on standings idea!!!

Don't believe I saw this above. Fix for the problem on "0" distances being reported for fly/line drive outs to the outfield.

As far as a 'new' feature, I really think something needs to be provided so we can check the fatigue level of pitchers when managing a game. Pitch count alone is not a proper feedback option, for many reasons.

Shaun,

Using 1.24 here.

At the end of the season, I proceeding through fine up to the FREE AGENCY section of the off-season.

During my free agency signings, I got within 23,000 of my roster cap.

Unfortunately, I only had 55 players on my team at that point (70-player roster).

So, I tried to go ahead and cut one of the guys I just signed (knowing I would still have to pay him most of his salary!), so that I could sign the other 15 guys.

But the game won't let me cut anyone because "I cannot afford to cut this player and sign another to fill out my roster".

So I'm stuck...cannot proceed with my career league. I can't sign the players to make the 70-man roster and I can't cut anyone so that I can sign some $50,000 guys.

So clearly, there are two bug issues here:

1) The game doesn't properly guage whether I can afford players in free agency (It should check to make sure I'll have "50,000 x empty-player-slots" worth of dollars left if I sign a guy...otherwise it should tell me I can't.

2) I should be able to cut a high-salary guy in order to sign a bunch of $50,000 guys. It seems that the game isn't figuring that out properly.

This is a pretty serious issue because as far as I can tell, my association is done...unable to continue.

Oh, and to stress how important I think this issue is...it's PRECISELY the reason I quit playing OOTP. Exact same sort of issue.

(In fact, I sort of asked you about it when I was considering purchasing PureSim...you may remember.)

The contract of the player you cut does no come off the books if you release a player.

Your still responsible for the rest of the player contract.

Nevertheless, the game should do something to allow you work your way out of this situation. Maybe as a work around you could edit your available finances?

True

Or for puresim, just have the contract of the current year of the player come off the books if you release a player. And then charge the current year contract and remaining contract years for next season toward the budget.

The posts above demonstrate why I dispense with finances altogether. Woodruff, apart from the difficulties the human GM has to face, how in the world can you expect an AI GM to deal with those situations?

I'm not trying to be a smart-ass or overly-conservative codger, but these are legitimate issues regarding the BUSINESS of baseball, not the game on the field. I suppose it's a philosophical issue, so I'll just shut up for now. [8|]

Another way to solve Woodruff problem is a option to make the team's budget go up a certain % increase each year.

You can pick the % you want for the entire league or an option to set different % for each individual team.

Is there any way to address (in this version) the import feature, so that you can swap real world players with younger or older versions of themselves?

How would you want that to work? As a different player, or overwite the existing one?

I've posted about this one too.

Here's how I see it. Let's say that I'm starting a new association seeded with 1950 players. There are quite a few Hall of Famers in that given year who are mid-way through their careers. What I'd like to do (and do it easily) is drop Diamaggio, Feller, etc. from the draft pool of players, replacing them with versions of themselves from earlier in their career.

Does that explain it better?

Great as is but would like to see the following added as time and priorities allow

- in-game box score as mentioned above.
- fly ball distance inside pop up window for runner advance. i always have to move window to see distance before making decision.
- continuity on in game commands: (I)nfield in on screen means press i to move infield in, (O)utfield shallow on screen means outfield has already been adjusted to shallow.
- correction to AI trade value of relievers
- option to bunt for hit or hit and run at any time

however if this game gets any better, i may lose my job. I'm already addicted to the point of distraction.
