In reality, the Matildas mostly either a) broke down or b) got stuck on something and were abandoned during the Crete campaign.
Im hanging for the Desert campaign...can't wait...

Desert Crusade is after BFTB.
Is there any plans making some game cover some partition of eastern front? I'm big fan of eastern front and biggest armoured combats of WW 2 were there.
Hi Jakerson,
Yes there is..... I believe it's to be called Red Star Rising and will feature Soviet doctrine with echelon type formations amongst other things.
Or so I've been told.....[;)]
And will probably be after BFTB and Desert Crusade....[:)]

During the time period German had only one weapon that was effective against Matildas and that was famous 88mm AT / Flag gun.
Most or possibly all German tanks guns were too weak to penetrate Matilda II front armor making killing of them very hard.
Still you could take them out with anti-tank mines by disabling tank or with satchel charge but that’s quite risky business.

At the time the Matilda(II) was one of the most heavily armored tanks, albeit lacking firepower. The Axis' 88's were then used and that is where the Axis began to become infamous for their versatility.
