I have the "Sharpe" series on DVD.
There are certain favorite epsodes that I watch over and over.

"Gettysburg" fur sure.
I always play it around the 4th of July.

"Zulu", and I've recently read the book "Like Wolves on the Fold".
Written by LTC Mike Snook, Regimental Officer of the "Royal Wesh Regiment".
He puts a lot of old ideas into new perspective.

"Band of Brothers", a favorite since I actually served in 1/506PIR in the early 70's.

Classics can be watched an unlimited amount of times.

I will pass on mentioning the cliche war films (hell you already know what is good and what sucks).

Here are some of my not so obvious favs.

Doctor Zhivago
Lawrence of Arabia
Shogun
Shaka Zulu (the 5.5 hour long one)
Anything James Bond
Anything with Sean Connery Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Charlton Heston and Robin Williams.
Lord of the Rings (the deluxe variety)

I was trying to stick to war titles, but I agree with Shaka Zulu (have watched it about five times) and, of course, the whole LOTR trilogy (extended).

The others? Well, enjoyed them, but once every 10 years is enough for me [:D]

If I am ever in your @Neck of the wood's' we could have a movie night never to be repeated - until the next one[:D]

Is there a better scifi war movie? Hmmm just about anyone ever made will be better
Depends on what you call a "scifi warmovie" though I guess.
That, and some are series, not movies, so do they count? Do pilots of series count?

There are a lot of good stories in scifi that would make great warfilms, if anyone ever wanted to do one. Hammer Slammers comes to mind.

You gotta go for the 'quote machine' movies:
