Yes it is and I will have to tell someone to play my turn again I believe...
I'm going camping tomorow and coming back friday late in the afternoon. I had hoped I would get that turn soon enough to send it out tonight...
I do agree with Mus... We keep going further than the 48 hours turnaround. Could it be possible to ask someone to play your turns if your sure you'll be unable to play for a while????? Migth be harder for you guys (because you don't have the turn until I send...) But it's easy for me.
Anyways do as you wish, I don't mind that much slow games... I'm just a bit surprised that we played like 4 turns in 2 weeks.

France's turn has been in for several hours now.
I can't execute and combine files. Long story. Very long story.

Sorry to report this turn is a "dud" of the kind we saw in Another PBEM from time to time before Kingmaker finally found out exactly what was causing that and how to prevent it from happening.
Kingmaker, could you give monte instructions on how to avoid this when he remerges?
Cant wait for the redo. I want to get somewhere in this game.

Yes, that would be great! The manual doesn't actually explain very well the process of combining turns, and I would like to understand it!

Here is the post he wrote about the issue once he figured it out. Try following this procedure and see if it works this time:

HiHi
Eric is on the case but in the meantime here is a C&P from another thread to act as a warning re the 'Combine PBEM files' process.
HiHi
OK here’s what I think the prob is and this can act as a warning for those who Merge the files in future games.
The whole merge turn must be done as a continuous process, from ‘combine PBEM files' to ‘End Game’.
So, if for example Visitors turn up, the Dog has puppies or the Lady of the house demands full on instantaneous ‘Fun & Frolics’ or whatever, you can’t just ‘Save’ the file as you would with normal turns and come back later to complete the turn, you have to go back and start again at ‘Combine PBEM files'.
All the Best

Oh. So the turn was a dud. Grrr. I've already posted a new turn

I thought it was simply my stupidly done turn, that resulted in nothing happening. Anywayd Prussian turn 9 done (although useless). So I get my goodies points squared for sending in turn before I got one

Are we still going to be using the nofrills email account for this game?
Also, who is the first player up on the reserve list to replace Franck?

HiHi
Good of you to step up to the plate and2, welcome on board.
Info you will need for Merging, all our T9 files are on the Hotmail account Franck set up.
To acces this account:
Go to hotmail.com
Username: nofrills1792@hotmail.com
Password: 1792nofrills
Just in case you ain't done Merging before below is a C&P of how to go about it. Screenshots show what you need to have ready to select before, and the after showes them all highlighted, to do that you need to use the
'Ctrl', not 'Shift as is normal for sequential highlighting.
Screenshot 1 below, will have to do 2nd as seperate post.
Remember you must do the whole Merge sequence in one go from clicking on;
'Combine PBEM files' on the Main screen,
click 'Open',
Select Spain from menue
Enter password for Spain,
do your turn,
then 'End turn'
What I do then is 'Exit the game compleatly, then open up again and go check that things have moved etc. etc.
Any probs email me at
powtwo@btinternet.com
All the Best
Peter
