Turn 61

AGN: Continues its push. I was unable to send the reinforcements due to a lack of rail cap.

AGC: Most of the units in the weak pocket escaped. I was able to ensnare a few though. Interesting development on the north flank. It was only one hex deep with infantry. I pull everything from travelling south for a dash north. I hope to a achieve a small encirclement of the front line SU units. I conducted several attacks on the front lines near there in an attempt to draw away AI reinforcements. I suspect next turn the AI will swarm me with infantry again.

AGC: The Hungarians liquidated the pocket. I drove due west in a effort to cut off the SU units but I was unable to make it. I committed the two panzer corps to bust the river line in an attempt to link up but it failed. I suspect most the SU units to escape encirclement.

I have built many fortification units in an effort to increase forts levels quickly.

Turn 62

AGN: Still advancing on the rail line. I don't the SU units to rail out or in for that matter. Once that is accomplished I can work on cutting off their supply. My final panzer reserve arrived unfortunately I was unable to bring more infantry.

AGC: The front line between Vyazma and Bryansk shifted back on average 3 hexes. I advanced and destroyed those forts. I have surrounded some front line infantry thanks to the armour dash north. Now they dashed south. In response to my northern push the AI left a single line of infantry to the south. My infantry broke that and the amour all dashed south! I am hoping to a withdrawal of SU units there.

AGS: The almost pocket allowed many units to withdraw but the AI kept many in place. Again, I have a ZOC encirclement. I simply could not manage that last hex. The units inside the pocket and near the exit are all brigades so there is hope.

Turn 63

AGN: Getting closer...

AGC: The front moved east again. I followed. Looks like I may have surrounded a variety of units. The panzer corps for this army group will need refits very soon.

AGS: I am glad I moved those two reserve panzer corps when I did. The have helped seal off many SU units.

Hi Gfelz. Great AAR. Good to see you doing some damage in 1942. After you have cleaned up the pocket in the south, could you post an OOB screenshot. Thanks.

Thanks and I was planning a OOB shot at the end of the summer offensives which will be soon. I hope thats ok.

Turn 64

AGN: The rail line is cut. I'll push a few hexes further north so that supply must be traced through light wood, heavy wood, swamp and over rivers. I managed to free up another infantry division for the cause.

AGC: OKH Assault is over. The 3 panzer corps are refitting I will get the Italians busy making fortification units. This winter I will have a defence exactly the same as the AI had this summer!

AGS: Big pocket removed this turn. Second pocket firmly isolated for removal next turn. I will not attempt a push into the Crimea. Again, I'll simply screen it.

Make sure you grab those ports on the Black Sea coast before reducing that pocket.

Turn 65

AGN: Continued pushing north. I ought to close the gap next turn. The channel I have created to get there is getting a little tenuous. I need to starve these guys soon. I did mange to get another infantry division there. It'll help next turn.

The final pocket in the south has been eliminated. The is still one hex I want but it'll be tough to take. In the mean time, everyone and there dog is either refitting or making forts. I might try for a limited offensive by the end of September. I do not mind the mud since the supply lines are fully established.

The screen shot shows that I might have regained all the territory I lost during the winter.
