From my opponent:

Before you invaded Noumea I was just in the process of organising an evacuation to shorten my perimeter and focus on the central pacific. Now it may become a key battleground.

The plan to make life easier for transports to move from the US West Coast to OZ backfired greatly and another battle on attrition is going on.

I did not realize that one cannot retreat directly from Manila to Bataan. Therefore I pulled back my units from Manila too late resulting that the USAFFE was cut in half. A costly mistake as the Japanese troops quickly sieged Manila. The I Philippinian Corps at Bataan has still 17000 supplies, 800 AV and level 6 fortresses. I want to keep Bataan into 1943...

Always nice to see 50+ B17s striking an enemy base.
I just noticed that no B17s are being produced anymore until deep in 1945. Huge surpise to me...

No small victory to take out an AO in my opinion .. the single ship type in the IJN inventory that controlls offensive operational pace IMHO ..

You are right. Sinking Japanese AOs is significant. But calling it a large victory goes a bit far...

Advantage of the operation "Whiskey in the Jar" is that KB is fully committed to the Noumea area (i.e. it cannot go somewhere else to counter other offensives or support Japanese invasions). If it leaves the Japs at Noumea are in trouble

And with KB being fully committed to Noumea and with the Japanese Air Force being weak in the Marshals (hopefully), it is time for operation paint it black
