Sep/Oct 41 starts with Axis initiative but storms and rain almost everywhere. The German advances in Russia are slowed to a crawl. One attack in the south widens the Dnepr river break through area there. In the north a slow enveloping move to the north and east of Smolensk threatens to pocket some large Russian armor units.
Italy bombs and disorganizes CW HQ Wawell and cuts off his supply along the Egyptian coast. Reports say Wawell has been caught in a trap and killed. The Italians are marching east towards Alexandria.
Japan sends troops from Japan to further bolster the embarkation ports for the coming operations against the CW.

Massive bombing of Dnepropetrovsk disorganizes all three defending units.
Japanese Marine unit disengages in South China and begins moving to the south coast.
Italian units roll into Alexandria and continue to attack Cairo which has only a Territorial unit defending it. Cairo falls to the Italian attack.

Thanks for the ongoing AAR. I'm definitely still following this and its good to see someone get so far into the war.
I'm sure you've run into little bugs and stuff, but I definitely feel this game is in a really good condition, enough that you can get through it by paying attention and use of restore games to get around the little weird things.

Yes, the game works well although there are some issues that I am aware of and thus can avoid or work around. For instance saving oil, it was working fine until one update or another caused you not to be able to save more than one oil in any one city. So I now carefully save in new ones every turn.

Russia rails the Stalino factory to Stalinsk.
The Russians slowly withdraw from the upper Dnepr river line, the weather makes it a snails pace.

I'm looking at WIF currently having been round the Pacific a few times with WITP-AE but never got past '43 for various reasons (though have never been first to quit). The fact that a WIF game, although rich in detail, won't last almost as long as the real war in elapsed time is a definite plus. Really been learning a lot from this AAR and others. The atmosphere on the Forum is very positive, with folks really keen to share their experiences for the benefit of all, especially newbies. Waiting for a hardware fix before I purchase but will definitely keep subscribed to your fine AAR in the meantime.

Glad you are enjoying it. All the AAR's posted have different aspects of the game illustrated and hopefully they leave the viewers with ideas for their own campaigns.

Axis Sep/Oct 41 impulse 4 ( impulse # 9 ) The storms have abated to rain... Not even one fine weather impulse this turn.
Italy takes Suez, An Indian Mech and an Italian Div lost, a couple of CW ships rebase to Aden. USA objects and gets a chit.
Germany makes two attacks, one in each end of the front. Only a Russian Mil lost and 1 Inf shattered.
The Japanese MAR moving towards the China south coast has reached the shore line.

Turn will end on a 6 if all but Russia pass. Russia needs to with draw more. All except Russia do pass
Russia is desperately trying to maintain a front agsinst German troops and at the same time saving their good troops.
Below it the situation. The end of turn roll was a 7, no end....

There was a problem with the destroyed units disappearing from the game during the scrap destroyed units phase in just the 1.0.4 game version. It was working fine before that update and is now working fine again in version 1,0,5.
Since there were a lot of units destroyed in the July/August 41 turn they would be sorely missed in the force pools. Therefore the commanders in this solitaire AAR will redo the September/October 41 turn.
It still is informative in that it can illustrate how much the game progress can be altered if just one turn's events and weather were different.
