This is the Phillippines now. It's down to just Bataan and the southern tip of the main island. And the partisans. I've captured the
two coastal airfields in the northwest but the Japs are just about to take them back.

This image is to show all the blown bridges between the north China area and the middle and south China areas. This ought to slow
down the passage of troops somewhat. He'll have to float all his troops south and even though he has more shipping than the
Allies his shipping is finite.

I did an assault on an island in the Solomon chain and got ashore.

Boy, I sure kicked over a hornet's nest with that move. The Japs decided to contest my landings and brought in all kinds of
planes and ships and if you compare this image with the one above you'll notice that there's a bunch of Allied ships missing
and the Japs took back New Georgia. D'oh. I can't afford to lose a bunch of ships right now so I guess I'll retreat.

Here's the Ledo road now. The Japs are adopting a three prong probe for their advance. I'm getting reinforcements spawning in
India that I can rail to the front. A little rest and they are as good as new.

I just now happened to notice that a hex advance by the Japs has cut off supply to units south and I needed to move a unit
into the hex to allow the flow of supply. If it will. Otherwise I'll have to pull out of the Rangoon area.

I finally received the 1st Marine Division and it's my understanding that they were introduced to the Pacific War by their
deployment to Guadacanal so of course I had to sail them there. My invasion of New Georgia saw the loss of a good
division and the loss of lots of ships and many planes and I don't have anything to show for it. D'oh. I've got to withdraw
the ships and let them rest and refit before I get into another knife fight. I lost a lot of spotter planes too and I'm guessing
that when you assign a stack of ships to bombard something adjacent that the spotter planes get assigned to the attack
too and so they are liable to the attack results. Or something.

I would retreat even from Guadalcanal. I think the marines might be next to be fed to the Imperial dragon, if they are not removed.

Like MacArthur, you will return later; just not now.

Yeah, but then I'd just have to take it again sometime in the future. Besides they serve as a road bump when the Japs
start their drive south.

I was checking out how many Repulse class BC's there were left ( 0 ) and I just happened to notice that there are 0 F4F's assigned
and plenty on hand and we're making them at a significant rate. And I just happened to know that there were Wildcat's assigned
to VMF-211 at Wake, 12 of them. So I can't begin to imagine what went wrong to make the Wildcats not show up in the inventory.
It would take a scenario designer or a computer programmer or something to begin to explain that one. Maybe the names don't
match exactly or something easy like that.

Here's the Western China situation now. More and more Japanese troops are showing up at the front lines. It's looking like there's
no stopping the Japs from pushing into Burma and India.

Thomas must have moved every Naval aircraft he has to the Rabaul area. This place is a fortress of Jap air power. I'm going to
have to stage my advance on some other island chain.

The Wildcat fighter issue in the inventory is the result of something in the equipment list I could not fix right away. Since I did not know which wildcat fighter would be used I put in their full 50 replacement rate into both just to make sure the Allies get their aircraft.

As it turns out only a few of one type are in the game and therefore they get no new ones. The bulk are further up on the inventory list and they have plenty in the game I suspect.

As for the Solomons, that is a nest of airfields for the owning player. It allows the Japanese forces to really mass their forces. It will be the same for the allies if they can take a few bases.

It is still quite early for the allies to try and push in there. It is still the grim days of defense. The battle of Midway did not occur until June of 42. The Japanese fleet is still intact so the Allies should delay their offensive until later. Guadalcanal I believe did not start until about August of 42 in the actual historical events. In this scenario the Island is already in allied hands.

The Chinese and the Brits are keeping the Japanese Army busy right now. The Japanese Navy is keeping the Americans busy.

The Chinese can't hold back the Japs. I'm going to have to pull back and regroup, form another line using the Indian and British
troops. It may be too late for that however, since I've seen some Singapore veterans being railed into this AO.

The Japs did a direct assault on Wake Island last night and the invasion TF's are still just offshore. I'm thinking that since the land
contingent is down to 44% readiness I'd best do what I can to save the situation by attacking Tom's stacks. The BB's will have to come
from a far port however so they may be too late in getting here.

Here's the West China situation now. The Chinese are just too weak to hold back the determined Japanese. I'm thinking that almost
everybody will have to pull back and defend the Ledo road into India.

The full-court press light has been turned on and the Japs have already captured Ledo. I'm making a weak counterattack.

The Japs have dropped some paratroops near Rangoon and cut off the supply of almost all the units in the south part of the
Allied front lines. They have no choice but to try to pull back. It may already be too late because of all the busted bridges.

I'm giving up. Tom won dudes. He's too good. We're going to start over and we're going to
use the new Naval Rules that come with 3.6.0.88 I'm going to be the Japs and Thomas is to
be the Allies. He's sending me files that are named FDR01.pbl etc.

Okie dokie........here's Turn 2's starting screen. I've boxed the places I captured on turn 1 to show the intensity of my effort.
I sank a significant number of Allied ships and lost a handfull of planes and next is Guam, Wake and Midway as short term
goals.

China woke up and is crawling with partisans. Thomas went for the bridges. I would have too. I flew some paratroopers into
Burma to drop the bridge over the river Kwai and maybe buy some time for me to get some troops into better positions. I've
seen some movement of Allied troops in Malaya headed for the Bangkok area. I forgot to save enough train capacity to move
the troops into Bangkok but they are almost there now.

I was going to try to bottle up the Allied fleet in Manila Bay by setting up a cordon of ships across the gap but guns from Fort Drum
on Corregodor sank several of my ships getting into positions. D'oh.
