Do you really need to winter the SS motorized divs....pretty sure they leave anyway and auto come back at full morale when they return.
Im still on a German learning curve.

I know most experienced German players Ive seen usually burn those SS motorized divisions out fighting in the some of the toughest spots all winter. Since morale losses on them don't matter.
Also dont forget the 10th panzer withdraws in may of the same year so you can keep that division at the front.

There are four motorised units that leave before the normal summer clear weather campaign - 10 Panzer, 900 Lehr, LAH and Das Reich. So you do not care where their morale is by end of blizzard. However they are still losing vehicles to the special penalty so ideally you should not keep replacements off and not use them when their ToE gets close to or below 75% as you will still have to draw replacements from the pool for them withdrawing or not. And arguably you would not want to use LAH at all on that basis as its ToE increases dramatically before it leaves so 75% then will not be 75% when it leaves.
Totenkopf and Wiking SS do not withdraw so ideally you should keep them in summer quarters. But because they have bonuses over national morale it is possible to use them in the winter and if you bring them to the rear in mud quick enough for refit they could still get back to above the key 85 morale threshold. This also applies to the elite 78th infantry division and to Gross Deutschland regiment. Indeed because the morale and experience of the GD regiment will be diluted by the replacements it gets and has to build up again to its bonus morale it does not matter too much if you use them in blizzard either. However other SS units like the Latvian motorised brigade do not have this bonus.
If you really want to pull out more motorised units I would suggest using the lower morale motorised infantry units (not Panzers) - if their morale is already below the 85 morale threshold then you are not losing any units that are above it.

sorry no push.
I am hunkering down for the blizzard. Which is upon us. Snow season 42 is over.

More fun, even when the ice melts, the Finns still refuse to travel by ship to or from Talinn. Mannerheim leaves instructions to travel to Estonia by train or driving only!

here we have nice fluffy snow. And an attack which is stopped cold. Too far from rail, low supply, bad roll, anyway you look at it this will be the front line in Crimea at least through the end of Feb 42.
blizzard further north
