Even my escort to bombers ratio was not enough to save the Soviet bombers from the German masters of the Sky. Every bomber shot down. 3 to 1 ratio not big enough. Was able to get a few more fighters than normal shot down by Soviets

4th battle South

This battle is another the Soviets get murdered in. The only thing that is missing are the blindfolds. Thus even well rested Soviets over 59+ experience I feel is not the answer up front to confront the Germans. I feel you are going to have to use some of the older models and medi-core pilots to start at a minimum thinning out the Germans if going Head to head in air combat. That is what I came to the other day & this turn re-affirms my conviction so far. Which could change of course if someone shows me a better way. Because lords knows I could have done things incorrect for the Soviet side.

The Mig is just not for me. Granted they are produced faster than cockroaches the durability & light armament just isn't doing it for me. I have a hunch that the Lagg is going to shoot down more because of the armament. But hey I could be eating crow in a few turns.

Yes, it has the best armament with the worst max speed, durability and maneuverability. Still, you may show me something here, but wouldn't bet my life savings on it.

The Northwestern Air force and the Leningrad air force are in a total and utter ruin. All these Soviet squadrons are decimated with the losses. Yes, I will put the pieces back together but it is not all bad. The Germans basically ripped through them like a grown up stealing candy from a kid. I do have to confirm that the aircraft with the most kills is 100% the LAGG-3 which I thought it would be. Of course this is the first battles and can change.



Also notice my final combat value is horrid. Not just this one but every single battle. I need to figure out the date this will actually improve in game because it is defiantly programmed in to give a very big negative to every battle(I have an idea already on the date but if someone knows would be nice). I have yet to see a combat equal to or greater than the first value no matter who the commander or experience level is. At this point changing leaders, using best aircraft, and other things don't mean a DAMN thing. Just use what you have until the in-game inhibitors causing this are gone. THEN you do your upgrades. At least that is what I am doing for my next game as Soviets

You may be cherry picking your photo here I could cherry pick battle 8 or 7 ;-P (Also look at the air battles for the Northwestern front I posted earlier. Mig losses are through the roof(which could be bacuse there were more Migs)) At this point I want the aircraft that is going to shoot down the most Germans. If that happens to be the Lagg then that is my aircraft.



The Lagg-3 did shot down more German Aircraft so far Plus look at total overall losses on all the battles. My Laggs have not done overly bad.

But I have to say that M60 could still be correct overall.

Ouch!!! All of my losses were new planes and experienced pilots over 59+. Yup, going to use the old models and lesser experience pilots first.

After an in depth look it was the Mig-3 that shot down the most aircraft. M60 is 100% correct in his assessment so far I will continue using the new aircraft and trained pilots to see how things turn out after a few more turns. No matter what, the Germans are going to be killing a great many aircraft.

Again M60 was correct & this is my second group of Migs with high kills. The other Mig Squadrons sux compared to the Yak's and Lagg's though.

M60's turn to tell me, "I told you so" ;-P
