It's still
T90 round 1 and here's what it looks like
NE of
Voroshilovgrad right now. My goal here is to push up to the Don River, stop up all the crossings, and just hold what I've got for now. At the same time I'd like to keep pressing for
Stalingrad. The rivers aren't frozen over any longer so it's possible to hold back the Soviets cheaply in this
AO.

It's now
T90 round 2 and here's what it looks like
NW of
Moscow right now. My goal here is to push up to the river crossings over the Volga river, stop up all the crossings, and just hold what I've got for now. At the same time I'd like to keep pressing for
Moscow from it's west side, which right now is a jumble of units from each side colliding in a pushing match complete with arty duels and no quarter given. I may have blown a hole in the Soviet lines just west of Kalinin and if I can hold it open long enough to pour some warm bodies through the gap them maybe I can get into the Soviet backfield and roll up their defenders north and south.

It's now
T91 round 1 and here's what it looks like west of
Stalingrad right now. The Axis forces are slowly making their way to
Stalingrad mostly sticking to the roads and rails but there's only one supply rail feeding this AO so the supply levels aren't particularly good very far from that rail. I have several river crossings to have to capture before I can approach
Stalingrad and I need the crossings to allow the supply to flow properly. I don't have an overabundance of troops in this
AO and of the constellation of options available to me these two are obvious: rail some more troops down here and break down the units to give more boots on the ground.

It's still
T91 round 1 and here's what it looks like
NW of
Moscow right now. I've managed to completely surround a small group of Soviet units and now the mop up starts where I start the process of destroying all the surrounded units. These are large stacks of Soviet units including some Soviet Guards units so it's going to be difficult to make them disappear. But it needs to be done.

It's now
T91 round 2 and here's what's going on near
Sevastopol right now. I'm astonished that there's a battle going on here still. I've been at it since just before last winter and here it is in early May 1942 and there's still open warfare going on here. The Romanians are taking a beating trying to take
Sevastopol down. All the Romanian units in this fight are down to half strength now. And they are good for only one attack per turn before they turn yellow. The Soviets have bou cou arty backing them up making it really costly to attack the Soviet lines. I'm thinking of stopping the ground attacks while using my RR arty to bombard the Soviet arty for about a week to whittle down their arty support strength. And maybe include some bombers on these arty strikes.

It's still
T91 round 2 and here's what is going on across
Crimea's Kerch Straits on the Soviet side of the bay. The supply level over there is adequate but I don't have the manpower available to push on to
Krasnodar yet. There are operations going on to the
NE of here to gain
Rostov and push south to this position but it's meeting stiff restance so we have a standoff for now.

It's still
T91 round 2 and here's what is going on at
Cherepovets right now. I need the crossings at
Cherepovets and
Rybinsk both in order to supply any advance going east from here. And I have plans to do just that in the works. It's not even the middle of the year so there's plenty of time to drive to the east as long as I can keep everybody supplied.

It's now
T92 round 2 and I'm just on the brink of capturing an intact bridge over a tributary of the
Don River west of
Stalingrad. I need all the crossings to allow the flow of supply to the valient troops fighting in this
AO. I just now railed the entire
22nd Panzer Division to lend a hand in the takedown of
Stalingrad.

It's still
T92 round 2 and the Finns are clearing out the forested and swampy terrain east of
Leningrad. It's slow going because supply levels are so low and the terrain is difficult. Fortunately, the Soviet units are sparse so this area should be clear soon. The there's no strategic value up here except for the objective
Vologda which is further south of here so there's to real need to push further east although I would like to attempt to capture the port of
Archangel which is on the north coast and the road that leads to there starts at
Vytegra I do believe.

It's now
T93 round 6 and this is what's happening near
Rostov right now. I have the Hungarians and Romanians attempting to gain the city of
Rostov and they aren't making much headway. Part of the problem is that I can't attack the same target with different Axis minor allies at the same time. But the good news is that the rails are getting repaired closer to this area all the time. The supply levels close to
Rostov are
28 but further east near
Tsimlyanskaya the supply level is
1 at the tip of the spear. But now that the repaired rail is getting closer the supply level will slowly rise.

It's still
T93 round 6 and this is what's happening west of
Moscow right now. I am on the verge of jumping the minor river and into the forested area
NW of
Mozhaysk because there's only a small Soviet unit blocking my way and I can brush it asside easily. Unless Elmer wakes up and moves some units into that clear space. Actually there's probably some invisible Soviet units already there.

It's still
T93 round 6 and this is what's happening at
Voronezh right now. I have managed to capture a couple of crossings over the major river and I'm now on the east side of
Voronezh and can help it the take down of that city. I need that crossing to allow supply to flow freely to parts east of here.

It's still
T93 round 6 and this is what's happening
NW of
Moscow right now. I'm still pushing toward the major river to the east of my positions. I want to stop up all the crossings here and give my units a rest for a turn or two to regain their strength. Oh, and by the way the Soviets have a shock of
110% because they are into the third day of their
'42 spring offensive. But my shock is
100% so I hardly even notice the difference their boost gives them.

It's now
T94 round 2 and I just now captured
Cherepovets which is a good thing because I need that crossing to feed supply to any of my units that will soon be east of here. It appears that there's only one rail feeding supply and that's the one sneaking in from the middle of the left edge. And there's only one rail leaving
Cherepovets going east. That may soon become a problem.

It's now
T95 round 2 and I seem to have blown a large hole in the Soviet lines just west of
Moscow and I now need to stream a lot of troops through the hole. There are a lot of troops nearby to do just that. I'd like to be able to roll up the Soviet defenders and destroy them before I assault the city of
Moscow. I have
23.1K HRS's assigned and
1190 HRS's on hand and I'm making
407 HRS's per turn. It's about
4/10 cloudy but not raining and the supply levels are excellent except for the north edge of the map where it dips to
4 at the tip of the spear.

It's now
T96 round 3 and I've captured
Cherepovets and the terrain to the west of the river in this image are largely cleared out and the advance continues. My shock is
105% and the Soviet shock is
98%. I have
23.1K HRS's assigned and
630 HRS's on hand. It's about
7/10 and it raining all over the map complete with T-storms and lots of dark rain clouds. The supply levels are not so great. Axis supply is
0 on the east side of the river,
1 adjacent to the river on the west side, and
17 at
Cherepovets.

It's still
T96 round 3 and I seem to have found a hole in the
SW side of the Soviet front lines near
Moscow. It's round
3 so most of the Axis units have expended most of their MP's so there's not much I can do to take advantage of the hole yet and Elmer will surely run some units down there to block me from making any further progress. So this may not be the game changer I was hoping for.

It's now
T97 round 2 and this is what that little hole in the Soviet lines west of
Moscow turned into. I managed to make it a little bit wider and I found some unemployed units to send into the spear tip. Some of them aren't all that strong and won't hold their positions very long when they get attacked in the upcoming Soviet turn. I feel like I need to find a couple of divisions to back up the folks that are there now. I'll take a look around and see what's available.

It's now
T98 round 2 and this is what is going on near
Moscow right now. I managed to get a good surround going on several small Soviet groups and I'm in the process of destroying them. I captured a couple of river crossings and I'm trying to trap the Soviet units on the west side of the river so I can destroy them before they can escape to the east side of the river. I'm optimistic that I can do that in several cases.

It's still
T98 round 2 and this is what is going on near
Rostov right now. I managed to capture an intact river crossing at
Tsinlyanskaya and I've moved some Hungarian and Romanian troops across it and Elmer has dispatched several Soviet units to contest my small footprint on the south side of the major river. The supply level is
20 on the repaired rail parts and
7 at the southmost extent of my footprint. The weather has turned nasty and there's plenty of rain going on all over the map. You can see where the muddy hexes are from the color difference(s).
