Speedy is coming with everything........one of my recon pilots is sure he saw FDR, Lassie, Superman, Mr. Ed.....and the entire fellowship of the Ring on board various allied ships.....

Plus the four first Nimitz class carriers...

I was hoping for Greta Garbo.....or something with nice pins (to use the period venacular)

Maybe FDR will shave his legs for you.

FDR...best president of the 20th century......but not good pins.......in fact I'm not sure what Pres. had good pins...none I suspect....except maybe Wilson.

This turns combat report was so long, I didn't get a chance to post before going to work.....I had hoped to post a few screenies, but you'll have to be patient, as I've snuck onto a computer at work to post....and IT are hunting me down.....

Speedy hit Wake with unimaginable force...(at least I hadn't imagined it).......will post OOB when home from work in about 10 hrs time........
My mines did a fair amount of harm to his invasion force....sinking a DD, 2x DMS, 1xPG, and over 10 MSW, oh and an AP and various lesser transports......
His shock attack was repulsed with 4-1 losses......0-1 assualt factor/still lvl 9 forts....but once he gets everything ashore, he'll take Wake......and sadly I will lose the Imp. G. Div. .....which was only meant to be passing through Wake until I could replace it.......
I lost another 30+ Betty's today.....none made it trough to launch.......

Strap on you helmuts......I'm sending in 5 x SAG.....the only problem is that after I closed the turn, I fear I miscounted hexes.....so they may come up short and be bombed into oblivion before firing a shot.....carriers moving north to cover retreating surface forces after engagement......then what is left will retire to Marcus to refuel.......

Speedy knows I'm here and this has rushed my actions........Thread help me.....the next turn will be carnage.......

Thank you niceguy.......but here is the horrible truth.....

1st July 1943..........

1:40 am.....Mutsu is hit by allied sub ...badly damaged.....she and Yamato retire to Marcus.......
3:47 am......all other SAG cancel the run to Wake.....as dawn comes too soon for the Japanese......
7:36 am.....the first Allied airstike hits my AAG TFs Soryu all but sunk....Hiryu badly damaged......
11:15 am ...Japanese counter strike......45 mixed Vals and Kates make it through Speedys CAP......1 torp hit on the Lexington.....not badly damaged...none of my planes return......

Heavy weather halts the carnage in the afternoon........

I lost over 180 aircraft........Speedy about 80...........

Speedy continues his landings.......assualts and is repulsed....but the clock is ticking for Wake.......

All and I do mean All of my carriers have no fighters available for combat....so they are running like (insert adjective here) for Saipan......Full speed......
Yamato is heading for Iwo full speed.......
Mutsu is heading for Marcus......but will be caught....
Hiryu is heading for Saipan......45 sys 38 flt 36 fires.....speed 14
Soryu is heading for the bottom of the pacific.....64 sys 78 flt 54 fires...

All other SAG.....all 4 are still going for Wake with no fighter cover.....they must make it tonight...then what is left will retire to Eniwetok......

Will Steven go cripple hunting or protect his landings.......

Surface Combat

I lost Kako, Suzuya, Fuso (more or less) and 2 Cls and 14+dds
Speedy lost Colorado(confirmed) badly damaged Maryland, California......plus some extras(Ca,Cl,DD).....

My single BB TF just bounced off Speedy's forces......losing 3 DDs scoring no hits
The Ise, Fuso Tf was Surprised to find allied ships at Wake.......hmmmm.......and lost 5 DDs.....without scoring a hit...



Then Dawn broke..........wave after wave of Speedy's aircraft........
My LRCAP from Eniwetok....didn't have the range......


Nothing sunk...but I will lose......Nagato(3 torps)...Musashi(3torps)......Kuma.....Furataka....many more tommorow........

Even if he fails to take Wake, he's just beaten you up VERY badly... Yikes...
