BLIMEY ! .. and here i was thinking that it would take a week or 2 to reduce the forts.
several planes flown in immediately for cover as the CV's are heading south to cover the
gili-gili invasion. many eng and base forces are ready to unload immediately. one div
and some tanks will persue to buna over the owens stanley mountains. What to do with the
rest ? Ill think of something.
also some naval bombardment went in on time and with effect from the RN in the indian ocean.
Geaorgetown was flattened :-

somewhat dangerous imo given the enemy airpower in the area , but the sub slipped off.
then day 2 Blackfish got the most torps hit in one salvo record !

the defenders ( including some of the 2nd Para and the flipping south seas detachment ! )
Isn't that unit in G-G ? must be reconstituted fragments , and it does bode well for the
state of the japanese defenders in south new guinea.
