Hard to see the six fleets under the black in the Aleuts...showed up on my monitor but not the post.

These four cruisers were in numerous surface engagements prior to bombarding Palembang, where forts are two, and the terrain is swamp. Japanese troops are not overstacked, and were all in combat mode.

Absolutely devastating bombardment from four cruisers. Runway closed.

busy busy busy ... definitely one of the busiest AAR's in along time. the tempo is just scary ...[X(]

Other news...

Bettys' raid a port leaving an already damaged Soviet destroyer with fires and heavy damage. Perhaps heavy fires, can't remember now.

Allies were quiet in the air relatively speaking, but got 8/10 DL on Pontianak, so all but one heavy cruiser (that was pumping out the counter flooding will leave for Balikpapen. Beefed up the air defenses the best I could.

Boela was bombed, AA Regiment arrives today and Zeroes are flying LRCAP. I should have held off taking the base till I had Rufes. Two engineering units arriving too.

I had to scuttle that destroyer, fires.

5 Mavis lost when the base in the Aleut fell, couldn't repair them.

I'm still ridiculously impressed on how both of you are doing in this one.

As has been said, the pace is relentless, and it makes it a fascinating read.

Very much agree on the relentless pace for both sides. It's as though, with the Soviet activation, both sides are taking a "there's no tomorrow" approach. For the Japanese, that might even be true [:'(] but I am surprised at how super aggressive the Allies are playing.

I am also. The Allied OOB is not at all forgiving until 1943.

Agreed, the allies must be stretched thin, but no real signs of cracking yet ....
