Allies also roll AX and target front fighter. I think it's safe to assume JP will stay but I'd better ask to be safe. Stay?

US bombers penetrate the flak screen and dive on the Akagi, sinking it.
Which ship will JP choose to take a D?

Also if you know already whether JP will stay (US will stay), can you mention that and where to send ships? US has a SUB in Solomons 3 box (4-7 SUB) (JP also has a zero in 4 box of Solomons).

Yamato takes the damage. The Japanese fleet withdraw after this beating. Heading for Truk if no damaged ships are included. If any ship is damaged and Rabaul can be reached without interception then that is the port.

Kaga is damaged. Since there is damaged ship I'll send all to Rabaul? Or did JP want to split the fleet? I don't think that is the intent....so will send all to Rabaul but can change if JP wants to change it no problem.

Image

EDIT: Yamato was aborted so had to sail alone. Speed from 3 box only allowed Truk to be reached. SUB declined to intercept this behemoth.

The 3 remaining ships (CVL,CV,BB) only have enough speed to make it to Truk (not Rabaul) so have to run by the SUB, although Kwajalein is a possibility.

Send to Kwajalein or run by the SUB? Also I can go back and also send Yamato to Kwajalein if JP wants that destination instead?

Edit 2: Peter responded on whatsapp that JP ships will go through Solomons.

The US SUB group intercepts successfully on a 1 and axis roll a 6, giving the sub 8 surp pts. 4 spent to choose surf combat, and 4 to shift up from 2A to 2D1A result.

Image

Where to apply 2D1A for JP? I'll assume first D is on Haruna and roll that one.

EDIT: Haruna rolls 8 and is aborted. 2nd D is no brainer on the CVL which rolls a 3 so Chitose is damaged. Last result is A and obvious choice there is Kaga to get it out of the sz if possible since it's still carrying a cvp and PIL. Kaga rolls 5 and is aborted.
