Victory at Sea Pacific on Steam at 25% off...

I would wait at least a year for them to fix up that game, been seeing a lot of poor reviews and there no telling if that game will be fix or not. Looking forward to it, but I don't want it if its full of bugs and not setup like it should be.

On the other hand, Hearts of Iron IV just release Man the Guns expansion, look interesting and I got it. Unfort it is not on sale yet.

This game look interesting too, been early phase for some time. Was told they are putting more efforts into it and though about getting myself. If you like the old Master of Orion II type of games, you may like this one...
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3402 ... st-capsule

Its on sale too for twenty bucks until March 5th.

I did go for it, as they are updating regularly and there´s mod support, so my guess is it can only get better.

"Command at Sea" (Clash of Arms/ATG) has me immersed in naval warfare lately [;)] So I couldn´t pass this.

You can please some of the people some of the time, and most of the people most of the time, but only an idiot tries to please all of the people all of the time.

That sentiment applies to friends as well of course. I'm not even interested in pleasing all of the world all of the time. Fools errand.

Some stuff, should be bloody obvious a bad choice. Some stuff is more a matter of freedom of expression.

I won't buy some products if the content offends me. But just because it offends me, doesn't mean it is universally offensive.

Some stuff though, well, if you have a functioning brain, should be easily considered unaccepable unless there's something somewhat universally accepted as 'unacceptable'.

I haven't provided any examples, as I'm not a fountain of perfect advice either.

But there ARE games, where just owning it, might force me to brand the owner in a certain fashion, and it might be a negative too.
There ARE always going to be decisions, that bite in the ass the person making that choice.

Steam is just a service. It's like making a judgement call on a chain store for something found on it's shelves.
The owner of Steam in the end, IS responsible for the product on it's service though.
I'm not allowing any quoted statement on the site to say they are not accountable.

Sorry, but you are.

What about Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and the rest? Do you remember outrage about Confederation flags?

[edit]
Otherwise Steam makes business, and good business practice SHOULD be appealing to clients & customers and maximizing profits. Banning products (games, books, flags, whatever else) for no good reasons that upset suppliers and customers doesn't look like good business practice. It looks to me Steam has done that and now corrects itself. Sony on otherhand...

[edit2]
Simply said, it looks to me Steam won't pull off (war) games anymore because somebody fabricates controversy about flags, nationalities, ethnicity etc. And that isn't bad thing for me.

[edit3]
Somebody just pointed to me the linked article is a year old

Some games are only available from Steam or require Steam to activate them. That's why I got a Steam account. [:@]

thanks guys for the heads up. I guess I didn't explain myself very well. [&:] I would rather not have to join STEAM but as you point out, it's the only way (for me) to buy Dawn of Man. Some good news for any interested, Ancestors - the Humankind Odyssey will be available from epic games this aug 27th. Here is a gameplay session at GameSpot:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPvoghEm9Ow

I went through the same experience in 2016 with Origin when I bought SimCity5. To say I was very upset would be accurate. In the end, it didn't matter b/c I found out my PC needed an upgrade, so I ended up getting SC4 besides.

best wishes to all

If you only want to buy Dawn of Man, you can buy it from GOG. GOG is DRM free and you don´t need the GOG Galaxy app to install it. Buy it, go to your GOG game library and choose manual download from the game install drop down tab.

It´s a bit more expensive then the Steam edition, but unless on sale GOG games usually are thus DRM free...

No issues now [;)]
