I've seen that. If any Allied FB reads this always remember OIL is NOT your primary target! Hit the resources, heavy industry, and shipyards...
Or just go right after advanced fighter factories, that's another good target. I agree on RESOURCES, because they make supplies that you need to expand industry, particularly advanced fighter types. But Dan should be bombing your FRANK factories as well.
Going after aircraft engines or HI is a crapshoot, because you have no idea what kind of stockpile the Japanese player has. As Japan, you can stockpile both of these ahead of time.

does the allied player get to see a detailed rapport on what kind of factory he bombed?? (dunno, never got that far)
Operation Downfall Update

The Japanese Army has experienced all sorts of troubles in India due to terrible road maps making units decide to go cross country (or is that cross-mountains?); however, it hasn't all been bad with the Allies surrendering in several places. This is the current turn:

Nanchang Repulse

On the same turn as we grab Pangrim, I note that the Japanese Army inflicts one heck of a bloody nose on the Allied army at Nanchang, China. The 350,000 Allied Troops attack and get a 0-1 Forts stay at 8 (they have climbed from 7 and will move back to 9 next turn). Casualties are something:
Japan 3,941 Cas 132 Guns
Allies 15,344 Cas 176 Guns 12 Vehicles
Pretty nice result. The Modified AS was 1-2 in Japan's favor.
In other China areas I have pulled all my troops from Ningpro and Woochow to the city hex due west of Shanghai. With Forts 9 and 2,200 AS we shall fight there...

Here are the latest economic reports. First up is the overview. I have used Tracker for some time now and used it back when John's economy had the front two wheels over the cliff. Now, I look at and see the damage done by allied airpower.

Being positive about the economy at this stage is difficult and I think John has done a good job keeping it together for as long as he has...there was a point some months ago when I feared that it would reach critical mass much earlier, but good management has resulted in keeping it chugging along until now...because my friends I feel the grease is hardening the arteries and the engine is spluttering. But it isn't all that grim yet ...The tipping point will start today as Japan runs out of oil and then in 20 days when the other regions do likewise and HI production drops to zero. Lastly the final death roll will be come in around 70 days as John runs out of accumulated HI...that is unless those TK's get through !
[*]How do I calculate this ?
John is now surviving on around 4000HI a day, and has been producing around 10K, but this is all about to change as Japan fails to have enough fuel and therefore the Imperial economy will only produce about 3500HI/day. So a shortfall of 500HI.
Then Manchuko/Formosa/NthChina stops in about 20, a shortfall of 4000/day.
Then accumulated HI / use = about 70days(I'm not at home so am working on figures in my mind)
Then that's it...
But while Borneo still stands and the shipping lanes are traverseable ... [;)]
[*]Shipbuilding (you need to halt all the ships you don't intend building in the Naval roster so you will be able to pinpoint your building)
For 198 HI you can get the first 6 ships to be completed... or if you just want the 7 DD's in the next 30 days incl accelerated... 1806 HI total (might be a small price to pay for these as you have already almost completed them) --- and there is "accumulated sunk costs". Anyway your choice.
[*]Repair yards to my knowledge don't use HI/Res/Supply so turning them off is not required.
[*]Your plane production is a marvel to behold ... keep cranking them out John...[:'(] well at least for the next 70 days. One thing however is that it would be nice if you could find an AirHQ with enough supplies to reinforce many of your airgroups that are depleted, even if you are using cannon fodder pilots...Upgrading Tony's, reinforcing Zekes, nicks, george, frank units...(anyway not being critical - just I have to do this V Nemo alot and it takes me almost as long as planning the turn - but it has kept my airforce still in the fight somewhat ... I should write up in my AAR how and what I've done) -- sorry for my self-congratulatory tone, it is the small bright light in my game!
[*]If things get critical we coud even turn off the Nakajima plants and save another 723HI/day, your reserves should last 3 months at least.
[*]LCU's will all come in full strength, reinforcements to existing troops is unlikely to really dent that as your supply levels are so low.
Any Q's comments ... as I am often incorrect [;)]
Cheers to one and all ...

Thanks to my Economic Advisors!
Considering where things were when Michael and Damon helped to teach me "Japanese Economy 101" I do agree that it is a miracle to have gotten this far before the collapse. I have a month's worth of Oil now about 240 NE of Mindanao traveling in 3 TF of 2 PC and 6-7 TK. IF I can get them home then there is 180,000 Oil. If they don't make it...well...then Damian and Michael's forecast is what will happen!
Did you notice how many AK I have sunk of Dans? How about 98 SS??!!

Well--it isn't much but I probably sank 3 AK and 3 LST with today's attacks. Just have to think "Baby Steps to victory. Baby Steps to winning." Anyone hear Bill Murray's voice with that?

a quick Q;
i didn't see current armament levels, but doesnt the above mean that you guys are OK in armament?
if i look at the imense armament production and related HI cost, wouldn't that be a great industry sector to save on HI consumption? (lasting a couple months longer is IMO worth way more than receiving the last reinforcements to japan in full strength, since it is fortified as it is)
Don't know if i overlooked something in the assumption? still learning a lot over here [&o]

WOW! Am I reading correctly that the Home Islands have a total of 132000+/- supply left? Ouch! Looks like even Osaka and Fukuoka have less than 20,000 each.
Not pretty, especially with only <10,000 produced a day, and a supply need over 70,000 (which is only going to climb when those late war LCU reinforcements start coming in). There is at least one advantage to bombing resources.
