See to it!
No sense getting all maudlin over the mortal peril to 50,000 Allied troops. Let me tell you the story of my neighbor up the street (right next door to the guy who has a Mazeratti AND a prius). His wife passed away. Really sad. They were retired and did everything together....even 11 Super Bowl games in person.
Here is what happened the first Super Bowl after she passed away. Touching. I dare you not to be moved.

My Dearest Spri;
Splendid idea on the new code book. It wouldn't do, would it, to have New Rorke's Drift falling to the Zulus?
I have these observations:
1) Do you not think there might be some mail delivery confusion between Fawlty Towers and Charter Towers?
2) Are we sure the clever Little Yellow bastards won't see through it? After all, it is so clearly a cohesive whole.
Finally, there is the issue of the stop line. If you fall back to Dusty Springfield what is to stop the LYB's from Marching on Normanton (or Normanville or whatever it is called). Additionally, if they choose to stay and build at Utwoap, there is the issue of 4 LYB division equivalents getting back in their war canoes and making mischief elsewhere. What do you think of the idea of trying to stop them at Utwoap to keep them occupied? I think 32nd ID can reach there before the Yellow Hoard.

My Dearest Mandy,
Thank you for your latest missive, it's always wonderful to hear from out esteemed friends and allies and you Americans chappies too.
We would like to propose a plan so cunning we're going to call it Operation Weasel. It goes something like this:
Reduce Port Hedland and Broome aerodromes to cratered turf.
Land the Australian I Corps at either Derby (note to self: Code Book addendum needed) or Sandy Shaw thus cutting off JJ's retreat.
Win war.
We realise it requires a little fleshing out but my staff are working on it as I write this.
Yours tepidly
Admiral Lord, etc, etc.

Reminds me of a few REMFs I knew a long time ago....Perhaps our good Captain would get better service from the Reincarnation Bureau, the 4th Quonset on the left?

Addendum:
Line 8. For Derby read Broome
Point 1. No, Fawlty Towers is a fine extablishment in Torquay, Charter Towers is a dump.
Point 2. Any cohesivenss in anything promulgated after Tiffin time is a purely coincidental.
NormanWisdomton/town/ville will need a garrison of somekind.

My Dearest Spri;
So glad to hear of your plan to win war. If I understand correctly, the idea is to feign panic and rout in Northern Australia, draw the Little Yellow Bastards forward into the desert and then land behind them and starve them to death.
I completely concur with your plan even if it does need a little "fleshing out" as you say. Have you thought about the effect the rout and panic business might have on the civilian population of Australia? I suggest free admission to sporting events on holidays and perhaps free propaganda films. We have a few in the works. You know the kind, Little Yellow Bastard with severe overbite and coke bottle glasses who walks with permanent simian crouch and treats prisoners badly but always gets satisfylingly done in by the good guys in the end. Well, let us know if you need help.

P.S. Sorry about switching the order on "Lord" and "Admiral". It just seemed to us a Lord would be higher than an Admiral
P.P.S Also, I hope you aren't miffed about the Royal Navy F4F's trapped at La Foa. You know what they say. Shit happens.[/font]

Have you guys considered the possiblility that the use of code names is actually hurting your cause due to confusion and is aiding the enemy?[:D]
After what happened at New Scotland, I don't think you have the manpower for such a committee, its sub-committees and the various panels attached to it...ORIGINAL: Cap Mandrake

I guess not. Maybe we should form a committee or something.
