-42C (-43.6F) in Lapland.

Warm -7C (19.4F) here.

Biggest problem in Lapland is that beer kegs and pumps are starting to freeze in bars and staff has to wear thick jumpsuits... 8-)

There was hilarious article (to those who know physics/chemistry) where couple in Lapland did show their thermometer that did show -46C as proof it's colder than reported.

Just fine, but mercury freezes at -39C...so you'd need to use ethanol thermometer. Theirs was with mercury.

Ethanol thermometer freezes at about -114°C (-173°F)

Why is that a problem eludes me? Hell freezes over pretty often. :)

To cold might not be preferable than to warm. ;)
