Axis, November 1st, 1941

Early preparations for the invasion of England start. We begin to route every aircraft available to the Axis to the channel coast. Some tanks are transported to ports but need some repair and refit before disembarkation. The Kriegsmarine is brought to full strength and amphibious landing craft are purchased, Fallschirmjaeger are trained. (All together a much larger expense than even the quite substantial Axis economy can handle in a week - hence it will be still a few weeks before the action commences).

The battle for the British Isles has started. We refuse for one more turn to engage the one strong asset remaining to the British, her Navy and entrust the initial attack to the Luftwaffe and airborne units. But we expect a vicious counter-attack of British war ships on our supply lines to Southhampton after this. We may have to weather a few weeks of low supplies. But our land based aircraft can support the RM and Kriegsmarine in their effort to reopen supply lines.

Epic naval battles take place in the NE Atlantic. The RN is probably in strong battle formation and both sides take heavy losses. We assume that the number of vessels on both sides is about equal, but the RN has more capital ships and carriers. The naval attacks by the Luftwaffe make all the difference, though.

The one drawback of running in battle formation instead of individual raiders is that the RN has a higher chance to miss our supply convoy this turn - which indeed they had to let pass undetected in the foggy December weather.
