Good work on those tankers
The allies never have enough of those

Yeah, thanks. I think so too. I'm planning to invade the Celebes and Java next, Palembang being a major objective of course. I've noticed that the oil & fuel reserves in the Home Islands is dropping precipitively and the only remedy for that must be more sources for oil and fuel and I'm thinking I need to do it rather quickly if I'm going to avoid any stoppage of the war effort by shortages. And after that I'm looking at Northern OZ as an objective, Darwin in particular. I still glance at Midway every now and again wondering if I should go for it in that direction. I'm parking a lot of subs in the Alaska region mostly as pickets, for there's not much traffic up there I'm guessing.

And now some combat news from the 23rd of Dec 41:
I had an APD find a minefield the hard way. It swept one mine and sank.

At last count there were about three Allied subs operating around Kwajalein.

There's another Allied sub operating near Formosa

I sank a minelayer near Palembang so I'll have to keep alert for mines around that area

Those Allied ships parked at Georgetown are slowly being sunk one by one.

The sweeping of Clark Field is turning into a gradual thing.

I made the mistake of putting my fighters on an airfield mission and little did I know that they would drop down to 100 feet to do their damage. They got shot up pretty good so they went back on escort missions.

This next attack is more like what I wanted to see

The need for air cover at Tarakan is pretty great

The Claude's on the CVE were overwhelmed by the number of Buffalo's and some bombers got through and they got a hit on my BB ( in the same hex as the CVE no less ).

Rob's Catalina's finally found the mark on one of my CL's near Rabaul. It was just a matter of time. I need some air cover down there too.

If and when I finally DO try to invade Palembang the Dutch fighters and bombers are going to be AT LEAST this ferocius.

If the CV's were unable to provide their own air cover then I'm lucky that the British and or Dutch didn't get any hits on them.

The daily B-17 raid on Tarakan produced some Jap losses this time. Just emphasises the need for Jap air cover at Tarakan.

Lingayen saw so many attackers that some of them got through the air cover and got some hits on the boats there.

A CVE that can't provide it's own air cover is a sitting duck. Luckily, the attackers used bombs instead of torps and there was only one hit instead of many. It's high time to pull that carrier out of there.

I know two ships that are lucky to be afloat still. Maybe I should move a carrier in there to provide LRCAP

And there's another corner of the world that needs Jap air cover. I'll have to move some Nate's or something to there.
