......NEWS FLASH.....

Great and glorious news.....IJAF has just began production of our latest fighter which is on par with the U.S. P-51. This new fighter will insure Japanese air supremacy for the foreseeable future. Hong Kong blockade continues, with shore bombardment around the clock. More air groups have been moved closer to the Thai front, insuring air supremacy in this theater as well. ( with more on the way).

counteroffensive has began in the Thai theater, with victories and advancing the result. Our forces are now pushing back the commonwealth forces and see the retaking of Bangkok in the very near future.

Wake Island has been bombarded once again in preparation for invasion. several U.S. held Islands are now in site of conquest. Marine forces are now finishing mobilizing on the home islands and once ready, they will embark on their missions. One task force of ships and marine units may even possibly be near Hawaii....who knows......

Germany- Air supremacy continues this turn, with no sight of Soviet fighters. defense remains the order of the day. Defenses are being strengthened as we speak, more and more fighters are being brought to both east and west fronts. German forces are now moving south towards Spain in order to bolster the Italian offensive.

Italy- offensive continues, with the gaining of more ground. New fighters are now in full production and one Fighter group is now serving on the front lines. This is most welcome news to hear that our German Allies are moving forces towards our front. With this addition our offensive will only grow stronger and the battle for Spain will end much sooner.

Dec 1940

The US Navy achieved yesterday its bigger victory in the war, as a raid from Halsey´s carriers decimated a surface fleet near Wake. At least one battleship, two cruisers and then destroyers were sunk, and the survivors will be a hard time to flee back to home without their destroyer screen as the seas are crawling with american subs. Soon the Phillipines will be released.

turn not completed, just began but on a quick recon mission over northern sector of the front it appears that the Soviets have finally learned a lesson. now the Luftwaffe will have to fight a tad bit harder, but our new fighters level 6 will be rolling off the production lines very soon.

Japan - .......NEWS UPDATE

from early reports, our naval forces around wake may have taken a loss, will give further information as allowed. So for now plans are still on track for invasions. new super weapon is being prepared as we speak. it does appear that our TSF (Task Force) Hawaii has not been found yet....so where could it be? close to Hawaii????? we will see once Japan has begun turn...

.......NEWS FLASH.....

update from IJN HQ..... naval forces outside Wake Island have taken huge losses. This is our first big defeat by the U.S. and we now have to concede this. Our Invasion forces were forced to turn around and head home. Our main naval forces are still engaged with Commonwealth naval units and success has been met on every end.

Thai/Indochina front- success as Japanese forces enter Saigon and defeat the last remnants of the French occupying forces. More airforce/naval fighters have landed in Indochina. the first airgroup of 15 fighters from our newest and most advance fighter is now in china. Chinese front is still on the defensive as more and more reinforcements are being put into the Thai/Indochina front.

Germany---

it appears that the Soviets have now learned a lesson and our Luftwaffe will have to fight now for air supremacy, but we are expected to prevail. bombing campaigns on the russian front continued but at a lower pace.

We did lose some bombers though to Soviet fighters which did survive our airstrikes...more forces put into front lines beefing up our defenses.

Italian front- our offensive is continuing in Spain and Italian forces have just captured a commonwealth port. New front has opened - Greek Front which has now seen another victory and Athens is now within our sights.

A fighter sweep over Barcelona produces the following:

Spain struggles to hold, India struggles to hold against the Japanese aggression in Indo-China. The last of the poorly concieved Japanese assualt on Malaya has been wiped out. Naval skirmsihes near Borneo. A routine fighter sweep near Koln produces 4 to 1 victories for the RAF. Whack a Mole in the Atlantic continues.

this is gonna be a stupid question, but can someone help me do screenshots from a laptop. i hit the button which says " screenshot" but nothing, how in the heck does one do it????? i did check screenshots in the game, but all it is giving me are the whole map and not the individual regime battles......

i'm currently at work, so cannot play the game, but i'm eagerly waiting to get the hell out of here and play. i'm looking forward to seeing the current situation with Germany/Italy and Japan.

i'm actually surprised that Italy is doing so well, as their military equipment is rather crap as in real life. I'm trying too get level six fighter for the Italians, but at this rate it is taking forever. The Germans have almost amassed a large enough force in southern France to come to the Italians aid and punch through in Spain...so keep eyes glued, who knows this maybe the turn when it happens......

The Turkish comrades had some unluck when declaring war to Italy and trying to invade Bulgaria.

.....NEWS FLASH......

HONG KONG has fallen......repeat HONG KONG....has fallen.....this means these forces are now moving toward the thai front with great haste. the JIAF now has 7 fighter groups in the thai front along with 2 bomber groups.

a major air battle has just taken place over the skies of Rangoon, with the loss of major British air units. Our new fighter group along with several zero fighter groups took part in the battle. last pocket of French forces is now being routed and are no longer considered a threat. Along with this a major naval battle too date has taken place against British forces off the coast of Indochina with the sinking of several ships, this is due to our torpedo bombers taking part in the battle.

This has more than made up for our disastrous defeat at the hands of the Americans. Soon, very soon a decisive battle against the U.S. will take place, but for now the commonwealth forces are being dealt with and they are taking huge losses.

Our ambassador in Germany has now reported that a major air battle took place over the skies on the eastern front. 36 Soviet yak fighters were lost to 14 German planes, bombing sorties took place on a large scale along with arty bombardments.

On the Italian front, the Offensive in Spain slowed a bit as fresh forces are being put into the front lines. Greek front saw little fighting, as the Soviets have decided to invade, but they have been stopped for the time being. This has caused Germany pause and now shifted forces accordingly.

The Red Army has started a grand offensive in Ukraine. A large tank clash can be expected east of Lvov.

USA submarines sank the last remains of the unhappy Japanese fleet assigned to support disembarks in Wake. Another Battleship was sunk. The Japanese Navy is now in the defensive. Other submarines are taking position to interdict Japanese supply lines. In other news, losses to German submarines increased again, a new searoute is being used.

A fighter sweep over Brussels bags a single defender, has the Luftwaffe fled the field ? Dozens of Italian aircraft shot down in fighter sweeps over Spain. Indo Burma theater is static. Quiet turn for a change.

OKW.....Soviet offensive underway, Luftwaffe has complete air superiority for now, but continuing air battles are expected. 27 more Soviet fighters have been downed with 14 losses on our side. bombing runs are currently under way against soviet spearhead forces with success. local counterattacks have been conducted in the south and north and met with success. Soviet forces in these areas have been pushed back, and more forces brought up to strengthen forward defenses.....more news as available...

Italy....Spanish offensive has slowed for another turn, but with arty and airstrikes. Limited offensive has began on other fronts, but due to secrecy, for the time being information cannot be shared.

Japan.....no news yet, as operations are currently underway.....as soon as more news is made available, it will be shared. Let's just say, the commonwealth was just handed their hat in another air battle over Rangoon....

For screenshots I use XnView. It is freeware.

Minimize the game window and open XnView. Normally you get two options: Take screenshot of active window either by pressing F10 or activate automatic "screenshot after 5 seconds" (pressing F10 works on my comp, but not on laptop, for what reason ever). Minimize XnView and maximise game window. Then shot can be taken and be saved as a jpeg file. I copy them to Adobe Photoshop if I want to make chances (add arrows, text or change parts of the image by a filter; see here: tm.asp?m=3346749, posts from Aug. 18th)

I think you can use the prtsc button, sometimes you have to hit alt-prtsc to dump the contents of the display into memory and then paste them into a file using MS paint. Otherwise, free programs will do more extensive things around the same basic function.

.....NEWS FLASH.....

ASIA THEATER- this turn was a success, as our new fighters are rolling out and insuring that our air superiority remains intact. The Thai front has saw more and more reinforcements pouring into the theater. IJAF conducted bombing/CAP missions which saw success on all fronts. Our carrier group as been committed to action against the commonwealth forces, which saw the shooting down of several commonwealth fighters and damage to enemy ships. Still been unable to locate the U.S. subs which are causing a problem but more assets are being put into locating and destroying them.

The tank battle East of Lvov ended with complete Soviet victory.

The Germans lost 20 tanks (plus a couple during the artillery preparation), the Soviets only 11.

I notice two things with the above screenshot And here is my spin...

Despite being completely numerical superior, the Soviets barely got a victory, with most of their troops, retreating or dead, in round 10.

Maybe Goebbels can indeed fool the German people with this but in reality the Germans had 39 tanks, whereas the Soviets had only 28. The victory was the result of masterly combat.
