Significant Panzer Divisions have broken out and captured Gdov and threaten Narva. The Luga river must be held and the Leningrad rail and supply lines must stay intact to Leningrad... do not let Leningrad be isolated or the Volkhov river be crossed.
Points for leadership changes are prioritised over fortifying Leningrad

Situation critical ... the Nazi Panzer Group South is at the gates to Krivoi Rog, completely overrunning Yuzhny Bug river. This has created a huge pocket around Odessa surrounding the 9th army and over 30 divisions of Southwestern Front. 9th army is order to fortify Odessa and will be supplied by sea until the seige is lifted.
Evacuate everything at once toward the Dnepr river, making a retreat in step to slow down the Fascists while you build your Main Line of Resistance along the Dnepr. Your first objective is to preserve your army. The aim is not make a stand at those temporary lines, but to buy time as you bring reinforcements to the Dnepr and build your forts.
The Dnepr, however is to be held and fought for. Make the Fascists pay in blood for every meter they pass over the River! The Ingulets river must be held and no German divisions must be allowed adjacent to Dnepropetrovsk or Zaporohye.

There are some scattered recon airgroups, some fighters over Moscow, and some bombers near Voronezh.
But other than that the whole Soviet air power is in the national reserve.

Rail repair in the south is well behind other typical games
But you can repair 6 continuous rail hexes in a line in the south too! [:)]

With only three enemy fighter air groups on the map just near Moscow I asked the rest of the team should we refrain from taking advantage for fair game play reasons.

I see no reason to have mercy on them for having no fighter cover... Lets bomb...
My team mates are a blood thirsty lot!
The result was massing all of the german fighters for sweeps of the few fighters near Moscow. Mass undisturbed ground bombing of their units. And back to bombing some of their industry.
