Huh!? Just realised that we are playing a ranked game? Well, that would have had some impact on my tactics but ok ok... I'll give my best.

Just tried "slow play" to gain more XP instead of other benefits. Let's hope that was a good decision.

You said you did not care either way(twice), and I wanted you to get credit for your impending victory.
If you like, I will resign now if you do not feel you are off to a good start. What's one more loss? I care not.
Has it really been that long since you checked the forums? I posted that nearly 2 weeks ago.
Still, it is easily fixed to your benefit.

no no no... I really don't care. I was just surprised. And hey, who knows... maybe my XP gaining tactic is even better? [:D]

And yes, I don't check the forum (at least not all forums) all the time. To say it with ugly kid joe's words: the new job is a hassle and the kid has the flu ;)

And it would be great it Mr Rippentrop would start his work now.

I actually think you may be onto something by slow-rolling France. By not finishing it off until September, then getting a couple good weather turns in October and November to threaten Sealion, you have left me in a position where the DAK is about to arrive, but I still have not dared to send significant reinforcements to Egypt yet.
You have created quite an opportunity for yourself, even if it was unintended. I think you will do just fine.

Unintended? The fighter sweeps, the attack on your fighter (too bad my last bomber was out of range), the Fallschirmjaeger units... no no, it is not over yet. Just waiting for your ships to sail and then I decide if there is a go for a late sealion or not.

But I'm glad to see you unsure about the situation :)

I was just trying to make you feel better.
What I meant was, if you get France to surrender in July, it is difficult to get the Brits to buy the fake Sealion dance for 6 months. In this situation, you only had to pull it off for a couple turns to have the same effect.
A late Sealion is always a possibility, unless the Brits are going to leave Egypt all but undefended. In this case, however, "late" will not mean fall of 1940, it will mean spring/summer of 1941. That would put a big smile on Uncle Joe's face. And if the Germans really want to Sealion, they likely can even if the Brits keep everything home, so I don't think the Egypt task force is the deciding factor.
But we shall see.

Hola everybody!

I am playing SCww2 in europe about 3 years with great frecuency. I considerate myself as extremly analityc about the strategies I choose every turn. In the last 2 years only YEREMENCO beat me (twice) and JAVICHU tied with me in a mirror mode.

I love to play with Axis but I can play also allies of course. I prefer to play with soft limits, as the possibilities are much higher and open.

Can I play a tournament game against any brave General? Somebody dares?? [:D]

Game over
Mika (Axis) won vs Markiss (Allies) in July 45

It was a tough game. After a slow start and a very good defense in Russia (lots of fortifications, woods, AA guns,...) the Germans could finally break through to get Leningrad and Moscow. Meanwhile Rommel conquered Africa and Persia and started heading north to join the Army Group South to capture Stalingrad. With so many MPPs every turn the game was almost won.

Almost. Markiss made a very impressive attack on Egypt, reconquered everything West and even got Tunisia and parts of Sicily. Tunisia was the turning point again. The Allied forces in Italy were thrown back, and after winning the air war the Allies were on the retreat again.

I ended up with more than 180 land units (there was nothing else to purchase... not even for minors - the rest was already in the building queue). All air units with well trained pilots and experienced HQs were too strong for the Allies. More than 1800 MPPs every turn for Germany were enough to rebuild any losses asap. The economic war was won too.

Finally the Allies surrendered since the whole allied navy and air force were destroyed and every allied major country was down to ~10 - 15 land units. Perm was already in range of German paratroopers and southwest England already in German hands with no chance to take back important cities and ports (and no ships or bombers to avoid more landings).

Great game, long fight, perfect turn ratio. Salute to Markiss for all that.

Anyone up for a game? Just finished one and my other game is over soon I think. At least I consider it as already won but I'm not sure if my opponent has the same view on the situation ;)

I have accepted elvarnomaslargo's challenge. Lord knows why I am playing Allies against another Axis specialist, it seems I am a glutton for punishment. I just can't help myself. Oh well, my other 2 current games are in WaW, which I do not enjoy that much, so here it goes.
New game, Markiss(Allies) vs elvarnomaslargo (Axis).
Banzai!!!!!

Is he an Axis specialist? Just asking because we started a game too and to be honest - I haven't heard much (good or bad) about him before but that doesn't say anything.

But I consider myself being more specialised on the Allies anyway. At least I prefer playing them. Feels more creative than the stubborn France-Africa-Russia-Rest thing the Germans do (sometimes sealion). But I confess that there are some nuances in the German strategy that make it more interesting. I'd only wish for a third or fourth rocket... having a build limit of only two makes the whole thing pretty useless.

Axis specialist, by his own admission. Bring it on.
You did just fine as Axis, many players would have wilted under the pressure I brought. At one time, I had viable fronts in Leningrad, Moscow, Stalingrad, Iraq, Turkey, Sicily, and Normandy. You handled them all at once. Many would have cracked. You did not over-react to any one, as most would have. Instead, you sent just enough to each front to stop me, coolly sending enough units to thwart me without crippling yourself in Russia. Most would have sent the entire Luftwaffe to one place, which would have resulted in disaster, as I exploited the weakness elsewhere.
Don't sell yourself short. I should have won that darn game, and would have, against most players. Instead, I remain winless.
I guess I suck. Or maybe, I have played my PBEM games against the best players, and that reflects in my record. Time will tell.
