It's still
T98 round 2 and this is what is going on
NW of
Stalingrad right now. I just now managed to capture an intact river crossing over the
Don River at
Kazanskaya...I also own the river crossing at
Vyoshenskaya and
Krasny Don and I have my eye on the crossing at
Kalach.
Stalingrad is just offmap to the east and I have high hopes to own it before winter sets in.

It's still
T98 round 2 and I just now defeated a Soviet Infantry Division and occupied his hex so now there's just two more hexes to grab and I can capture
Sevastopol finally. I'd like to destroy all these Soviet defenders and to do that I'll have to own the two port hexes in the pocket.
Sevastopol itself of course and the hex three hexes
NW from
Yalta. If I can own those ports there would be no way they could escape.

It's now
T98 round 4 and I just now captured the river crossing at
Rybinsk ( the topmost river crossing ). I also own the river crossing at
Kalyazin ( third from the top ), and at
Kimry, and one more whose name escapes me at the moment. It's raining cats and dogs and there's lots of muddy terrain to traverse. I'm going to need the crossing at
Yaroslavl for supply purposes.

It's now
T99 round 1 and I just now captured the river crossing at
Serpukhov ( south of
Moscow ). I have a fairly good surround started on a small group of Soviet units in a salent shaped like a finger and I'm reducing the pocket. The
267th Infantry Division sneaked north then east then south into the unoccupied river crossing hex just south of
Serpukhov. Note the use of weak Soviet units to man the front lines. A lot of the Soviet units that I'm fighting are cherry red.
I have
22.4K HRS's assigned and
588 HRS's on hand. I've lost all
41 of the Jeep's I had but there's
383 on hand so some should be assigned shortly. I've lost
5.9K+ trucks but there's still
5.8K of them assigned. I've lost all
33 PzKpfw II(flame) tanks and I'm not building them any longer. I've lost
2 Destroyer(Early) boats and
2 Destroyer boats and
1 Heavy Cruiser. I've lost
1561 Me-109E/F's but there's still
710 of them assigned and I'm going to quit making them on
T108 but I've already started (
T88 ) building the
Me-109(late) and there's already
244 of them assigned.

It's now
T99 round 5 and I stuffed some people through that small hole starting two turns ago, which I'm guessing is a week game time, and in that week I've gained a lot of territory, two river crossings, and I'm starting to roll up the Soviet front lines in front of
Moscow. It's the middle of the year so the days will start getting shorter. I'd like to own
Moscow by the end of the year.

It's still
T99 round 5 and if the goal is
Stalingrad then I'm going to need the river crossings at
Kalach and west of
Krasny Don to allow the supply to flow. Actually the crossing at
Krasny Don includes a rail and theoreticly could feed supply sufficient to take down
Stalingrad. That's the theory.

It's now
T100 round 3 and I found a gap in the Soviet lines and drove the
40th Aufklar from the
14th Panzer Division to
Stupino and captured the river crossing there. Elmer railed in some low strength units to screen the hole I made in his lines and I believe I can push those low strength units asside and get further into the Soviet backfield. I'm still in the process of rolling up the Soviet front lines and it's going rather well.

It's now
T101 round 3 and I managed to get a fairly good start on surrounding
Moscow entirely.
Case Blau has started this turn and my shock is
120 and the Soviet shock is
98 and will be for several turns from now. That makes this period of time the
best time I will
ever in this game have for investing
Moscow. Now is the climax of the game. IMHO.

I thought it might be helpful to get a view of the front lines as they are right now to help me do some planning for future projects.

It's now
T102 round 1 and I thought I'd go through some of the expected reinforcements to see what I need to grab yet to get the prize. I've run into at least three instances where I was sure I already own so I need to investigate those instances.

It's now
T102 round 2 and this is what's going on near
Moscow right now. I've surrounded a small stack in the middle left, and I've got a good surround going on another small group and I'm converging on the city of
Moscow slowly. About half of the map has rain clouds and there are multiple T-storms and no doubt some wind. The supply levels are great since the rails have been repaired all the way up to the front lines. I have
20.6K HRS's assigned and
821 HRS's on hand. I have lost
6.2K trucks but there are
5.6K trucks still assigned and I have
8.2K trucks on hand.

It's now
T103 round 1 and this is what's going on near
Moscow right now. I've managed to sneak closer to the city and things are going well. I've got
20.8 HRS's assigned and
729 HRS's on hand. And it's raining cats and dogs still. Lots of muddy terrain and no doubt some high winds. Very cloudy with several T-storms and multiple productive rain clouds. But the supply levels are excellent.

It's now
T104 round 2 and this is what's going on near
Stalingrad right now. I'm fighting over the most important crossing yet in the game. The Soviets have several large stacks of Soviet defenders and the going is tough. I doubt that I'll get through the Soviets so I'll need to go around them with some engineers to facilitate a passage over the river somewhere. On the other hand I've managed to stop up all the crossings over the
Don River to protect my northern flank. I see some Soviet supply sources just offshore just east of
Stalingrad. That makes it really difficult to starve the city of supplies.

It's now
T104 round 3 and this is what's going on just south of
Moscow right now. I've managed to get a good surround on a small group of Soviet units and I'm in the process of mopping them up. My goal here is the city of
Kalinin since it has an important railroad line running through there and I need that rail line to feed supply to my valient troops. With the disappearance of the Soviet units I'm destroying I hope that gives me a clear approach to the city itself. But I've got a sneaky suspicion that Elmer is going to rail a bunch of troops into that spot.

It's now
T105 round 1 and this is what's going on near
Moscow right now. On the north edge I've managed to get a good surround on several small groups of Soviet units and I'm in the process of mopping them up. Those Soviet units in the small pale yellow circles are those I expect to disappear this turn. And when they are gone I should be able to push
SE to the rail line leaving
Moscow. I have
20.0K HRS's assigned and
545 HRS's on hand. It's about 3/10 cloudy but not raining anywhere. A typical summer day with a breeze. The rails are repaired all the way up to the front line so supply levels are excellent.

It's still
T105 round 1 and this is what's going on south of
Moscow right now. I've managed to get a good surround on a small group of Soviet units and when they are gone I should be able to push
NE to the river and east to
Skopin this turn. Those Soviet units toward the south of this image are mostly weak Soviet units and I should be able to push those asside.

It's now
T105 round 2 and this is what's going on near
Yaroslavl right now. I have bypassed some Soviet defenders and now the follow on forces are mopping up in my backfield. Just west of
Yaroslavl is a ring of my units around an empty enemy hex and that is the spot where I just now destroyed a Soviet unit and those units can now find something else to do.

It's still
T105 round 2 and this is what's going on near
Vologda right now. You can see how sparse the Soviet units are in this area. I have no idea why I'm pushing east in this AO because there aren't any objectives near here so this could be an example of wasted effort.

It's still
T105 round 2 and this is what's going on near
Voronezh right now. I was trying to drive some units around the group of Soviet defenders at the bottom of the image but Elmer saw that and send some units to stop that and now I have an engineer unit stuck in the upper right area and I need to get him a supply path again and get him some support somehow. But I'm slowly pushing the Soviets backward.

It's now
T105 round 3 and I've managed to capture the two river crossings just west of
Stalingrad. I need to use some engineers to leap over the river to get in the backfield of the river crossing defenders. The Italians ( yellow units) are having a devil of a time trying to defeat several Soviet divisions and they aren't making any headway so I'm going to have to dispatch some German units to help them. The Hungarians are trying to force their way south from
Rostov and they aren't making any headway either.
