Kristian you take local (i.e. commuter) plane to work or ordinary one that travels long distances?

Other way around, Leo. I take the train; however, said train runs from Aalborg (in Northern Jutland) to Copenhagen, and so the people who would take a domestic flight from Aalborg to Copenhagen are on my train in the morning as long as this grounding lasts.

Typo... "plane" should be "train"... [:D]

Thanks for info!

BTW, how long does it take for your train commute every working day?

Also how long it takes for those traveling from Aalborg (in Northern Jutland) to Copenhagen via train and via short domestic flight by plane?

My train ride is 16 minutes. From Aalborg to Copenhagen takes about 6 hours (I think). No idea about flight times; it's sorta silly to want to fly from one end of this very small country to the other.

Thanks for info Kristian!

BTW, I just checked Google Maps and it is rather big "U" shape from Aalborg to Copenhagen equaling 400+ km by car and estimated at 4 hours... the flight would be much shorter and direct... it surely pays off...

Obviously. Whether or not people ought to be in that much of a hurry is another matter.

IIRC the last time Eyjafjallajökull erupted 100 or so years ago the eruption lasted for 12 months... [X(][X(][X(]

I wonder if we can go back to trains and ships and forget about airplanes in travel... [&:]

12 months ugh [X(]

And let us not forget catastrophic eruption of Laki on Iceland in 1783!

This eruption seriously changed the world weather for years (especially Europe)...

That's an interesting question. Are we still "civil" enough to put up with other people for such extended periods? "Polite conversation" seems almost a lost art since the "me generation" came of age. Any thoughts?
