Why do you assume that because I'm in Britain that it's raining? Everybody from outside our nation associates the UK with rain. They never mention the fact that we have some fantastic summers do they?
Just becasue it
is raining today does not diminish my point though...

Hi all,
ORIGINAL: Dixie
Ideally I want to carry on with the spannering, but I'm not sure that I want to stay with aircraft although I'm not ruling anything out I'd even go and work in an office or do electrical work if it brings in the cash. The current front-runner is rolling stock and traction maintenance, big stuff that's complicated and noisy. [:D]
I've got experience in a field that probably 90% of the wider world can't directly relate too, too most people (this includes pilots) aircraft are big shiny complicated things that work through some sort of magic (like nuclear submarines) [:D] The thing is, to me it's just my job. Good job that someone has helped me to actually work out what useful skills I do have.
Of course, there's also the outside chance that things will go down what is currently a totally unexpected path and I'll get the offer of three more years. I'm aware that I'm at a bit of a crossroads now, I'm old enough to have some good experience under my belt but young enough that I can carve out a new career -or- I can stick with what I'm doing now and try and gain promotion.
Unlike a majority of people, I've started my resettlement stuff as early as I could. I'm planning on getting the boot as part of the planned cuts to manning, I'll just be classed as natural wastage and shown the door. So now I've got 18 months to try and figure out where I want to go and how to get there. Plan for the worst and hope for the best...
Best wishes Martin - fingers crossed!
BTW, is there a job for you with civilian airlines for example?
Would that be OK?

We here will have +31 degrees Centigrade... those kind of temperatures should be in July and August...

Hi Odin,
I've been involved in Tang Soo Do (Korean Karate) off and on (now on) for the last 12 years. I've always appreciated Kendo and its ilk, particularly for the ceremonial / cultural aspects. That's beautiful armor, but I can understand you flinching about $3,000. [X(]

Interesting.....so are there any other Korean forms besides Tae Kwon Do and these two new ones I've just learned about? (Kendo and Tang Soo Do)
