Two detected Jap LCU visible on-map at Katherine, one identified in a 12/01 Sigint entry as 48th Infantry Division/C sub-unit. I’m currently not anticipating Pillager moving Japanese ground forces very far into the interior of Australia given the ground action in our previous WitP campaign at Daly Waters (Stalingrad in the outback). My present estimate is that Pillager is occupying Darwin (and immediate surrounding area) as a defensive measure to close off eastern approaches to the DEI from Allied attack.
Malacca Straits: Three remaining British patrol subs continue moving southward through Malacca Straits, two subs damaged in Jap air attacks (Ki-49 Helen) last game turn were detached from the group and returning to base. AAR’s follow.
