Lucius Cornelius Sulla, Roman dictator dies.

A rather grizzly death, iirc. Whatever desease he died from, it caused him to break out in sores and rashes all over his body as well as a contstant itch. He spent the last year of his life in some resort town at his villa soaking in mineral baths to make the pain and itching subside.

Far from the worst leader Rome had had, though. Started off as quite the reformer and proponent of popular rights....but as with many Roman leaders, slipped into despotism with age and died quite unpopular. His biggest support base came from his old legionaires, who adored him and on whom he lavished both money and land.
