Now that 1.09 seems ok for release Ive started writing code for 1.10. Will be busy with that at least until Christmas.

Just giving this one a bump in case it got missed...this one is LOW PRIORITY, as I'm not working on anything right now that involves Ghana, but it would be nice to have. Lots of possibilities for small or medium-sized conflicts involving Gulf of Guinea nations over oil, terrorism, piracy, fishing rights, etc.

To help with the general effort of adding more about Africa to the database, I have tried to track down as much information as I could find (mostly from Jane's Fighting Ships, but also some from Wikipedia and other sources) about Ghana's navy. Thanks for considering these!

Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghana_Navy) says that two German Albatros-class FACS (P 27 Sebo and P 31 Dzata) were transferred in 2010 (so, Operational dates would be 2010-present, I suppose). I’m guessing the data would be the same as that listed in the database for the Albatros-class from 1988-2004 (listed as #1386)

Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghana_Navy) also says a South Korean Chamsuri-class was donated in 2011 (Operational dates: 2011-present). Here is the Wikipedia data for the ship:

Ref two current or soon (???) to be in service Russian surface vessels, there appear to be issues with the numbers and types of AAW systems, could the DB be amended please?

VLS for the 3S90M (SA-N-12 Grizzly)appears to be 36 cell not 24, (3 blocks of 12 close together in foredeck).

The construction photo shows the foredeck under wraps but counting the side "vents/hatches" seems to back up the theory of 3 sets of 12 in a close block and the builders model photos show a 36 cell for the Shtil system?
Unless anyone has any links or photos to indicate the contrary?

#2816 & #2310 SKR SERGEI GORSHKOV [Pr.22350]
VLS is 32 cell as in DB3K but should be capable of using both 9M96 (9M96M)(SA-N-21c), 9M96D (9M96DM) (SA-N-21d) missiles given its size and length.
The Gorshkov is intended as a Sovremennyy replacement with an AAW role, so it would be odd for it to have just relatively short range 9M96 SAM's.
Also the Grigorovich with its SA-N-12 40nm range was widely reported to be intended as a stop gap pending full production of the Gorshkov so it would seem odd for the newer replacement to have a shorter range (arguably more effective?) SA-N-21c with just 25nm range?

Can the Gorshkov be given 32 SA-N-21D or a combination mix of 24 D & 8 C's please?

Thanks all ref the Grigorovich, did notice the Russian ships entry for the Shtil was 24 cell as well but it was in a minority.

It does illustrate that creating an entry for the Project 23560E based on manufacturers PR models may be a bit premature?

Triode do you have any links to You Tube for construction of the Gorshkov ref the 9M96?

Hello fellow. Checking the catalog of export of systems of Defense air of ROSOBORONEXPORT, I have observed some points to correct DB3000 database.
For example the number of simultaneous channels in systems:
-S-300VM. 12 channels according to BD3000. 24 according to ROSOBORONEXPORT.
-BUK-M2E. 4 channels according to BD3000. 6 according to ROSOBORONEXPORT.

DEVELOPER'S NOTE: Database development slow-down!

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know that I have now re-directed my limited Command time (which is squeezed inbetween family life, day-job, workout, and various other interests) to write code. My code contributions have been rather limited lately and I need to add several new features and fix a few bugs before I can start working on the Advanced Strike Planner.

This means I will only fix reported errors/inaccuracies in existing platforms and only make critical additions, i.e. units needed for a scenario currently under construction. Nice-to-have stuff (that no-one will ever use in a scenario anyway haha) will not be added.

If there is anything you consider extremely important (...enough to justify spending time on adding / fixing, rather than having me working on code) then feel feee to post. If not then you'll find me burried deep down in the Command game engine.

Please, please figure out how to get this into the next version of the database! Seriously...flying killer robots with lasers. What's not to love?

It looks like this one is designed to hit ground targets as well as surface naval targets. Maybe for an initial version, until more data is available, just use the COIL as a template but add ground targets to the list of possible targets?

May I also suggest, for hypothetical platforms, the ACL-130X Thor (i.e., a C-130 armed with a couple of these lasers...it's got enough space onboard for the power system) and maybe even the MVL-22X Osprey Terminator (i.e., an Osprey with all its cargo space eliminated so it can carry the power system for one laser...just the thing for taking off from an amphibious warfare ship, flying in low and fast, and taking out a few terrorists)?

My engineering opinion on this is that it is mostly marketing with still unproven abilities. The power capabilities of a drone, even one that size, is very limited...possibly impractical for maybe another 10 years.

Agreed.

People usually forget about the optic-chemical amplifier underneath the laser turret, which is the core of the laser energy generator. For an energy to destroy a commercial quadcopter in 5 kilometers, it would need a big container of amp to generate such of power, like this picture below:

The much smaller laser platform will not guarantee its lethal energy output, but still can generate strong IR jamming beam, or focus many lasers to heat generator to produce power. These are viable options for a small platforms.

You're right, it is not DB problem.
For some reason, penetrator is not released sometimes.
I can not reproduce it again.
