We live way out in the country and not in a subdivision. Not once in the 12 years we have lived here.

None. Not a single one. Probably because we live at the end of a very dark driveway/road.

Yeah, I live in a nice neighborhood. We were watching parents drive up & drop their kids. Sad to think on it, but at least the kids got to do their thing. I bet we saw 200 + in 2 hours. I swear one bunch was an entire Day Care [X(]

Yep there were car loads dropping off kids. Nice to be in a good neighborhood. Darn near ran out of candy bars, only three left. I was about ready to handout cigarettes or small cans of Hormel Vienna sausages or potted meat.[:'(] But by 8:00 it was pretty much over. Though the small towns around here were having up to 400 kids.[X(]
It was a fun night.

Friend of mine from HS said he had 489 kids show up...lives in Smyrna DE.

We had no idea of how many kids we'd get here. On most bases you get LOTS of kids simply because it's safe. (Besides having a big, well guarded fence between them and the rest of the world) there were lots of roving USAF security personnel keeping things safe , and not getting out of hand. But it rained very hard , so we only got about 75. (Any body know how to preserve lots of left over candy?) [:D]

All moved...found a house 7 blocks from the South River and 2 miles from the Chesapeake. Still in the process of settling in and getting used to the new routine. It was tough on my younger son who is a senior in High School...but he transitioned well and has made some new friends through the soccer team.

Thankfully we're not allergic... Have been out picking blues a couple times now. Crabcakes at the Edgewater restaurant are top notch. Try Bay seasoning on your wings.

Dang, you guys are making me hungry! I grew up in South Baltimore and Glen Burnie. My brother still lives in White Marsh. [:)]

Our incident happened at Mike's Restaurant and Crab House.  It was a great time out, except for his face swelling up.

Last night was insane. 108 kids came to the door last night in less than two hours.

It was a fun night.

In Fairhope we’re not suburban sprawled yet so, except for downtown, neighborhoods are like islands set into a sea of woods, cotton fields, pecan groves, and horse farms. Our neighborhood is usually popular, and this year there were three haunted houses along with the usual barbeque tent under the oaks at a vacant corner lot, right up front. Parent friendly, and we patrol to keep the kids safe.

I made cookies; peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, and pecan with ginger.
[ed] we had a gazillion children, this year. I made 180 cookies and they were gone by 9:00 pm.

I now live across the river south of Annapolis and commute daily into DC. Traffic on 50 is far better than the traffic in NOVA, and housing is far more affordable than in Montgomery Co., MD.

Too bad. I recommend trying Cantler's Riverside Inn...a bit off the beaten path but well worth the trouble.
