Earlier that day, I took my son to Thrusday's down in Galesville. He had a crab appetizer, but no problems at the time. That was a neat place, totally on a pier.

Before going to Crofton, I spent part of the day at Antietam Battlefield. Half the trip after that was on back roads, and I totally enjoyed it.

Everything's so close. In these parts, I would consider a four hour trip a walk across the block. I think it was < 2 hours from Hershey to Baltimore. I never really "saw" Baltimore or DC, being pretty wooded on the highway there.

Galesvill is just down the road from my house. Antietam IMO is one of the best battlefields to visit...still relatively unchanged. The location we're in isn't bad - if we want the city, DC or Baltimore in less than an hour. Plus many of the museum in DC are free. If we want the mountains we can trip out to South Mountain in less than 2, the ocean is two hours or 2.5 if we go to Assateague. The bay is practically in our backyard.

Nothing like 10 hours of sleep to refresh the old sleep batteries I had been running down lately! Good not quite morning now...

Old Bay Seasoning -- Use it all the time camping as a seasoning for chicken grilled.

I picked up the Walking Dead PC game from the Steam sale, for just over £5 I'd say it's money well spent. I've just finished the second episode/chapter of series 1, pretty good story but I saw the ending coming fairly early on. It does feel a lot like the series but doesn't really play like a game, if that makes sense. Somewhere between those interactive stories and a point and click game IMO, I know the ending will be the same regardless of the choices I make but a game like this is about the journey right? After all, I play AE and I know how that will end [:D]

It's probably a bit short for a full price purchase, but in the sales it's well worth it. It probably helped that I like the TV series as well.

Good morning all.
Last night was insane. 108 kids came to the door last night in less than two hours.

Wow! I didn't think you guys had 108 Trick or Treat age kids in the whole state! [:'(]

Yeah, I live in a nice neighborhood. We were watching parents drive up & drop their kids. Sad to think on it, but at least the kids got to do their thing. I bet we saw 200 + in 2 hours. I swear one bunch was an entire Day Care [X(]

Cool!

Our new neighborhood has a lot of families. There were easily 200+ kids at our door last night. It was a blast! [:)]

Excellent! Did you play the role of the besotten door opener then? Rum punch for the effort? Just guessing. [;)]

Zero here, but that is usually the case. Something about the Rotty tied out front on a big logging chain and not fed for a couple of days... Just kidding...

We live way out in the country and not in a subdivision. Not once in the 12 years we have lived here.

None. Not a single one. Probably because we live at the end of a very dark driveway/road.

Well, do you lot even routinely celebrate Halloween?

Dixie-some free advice for my crusty English colleague follows. Crumpets, scones or a smear of marmalade isn't what the kids are looking for. A small candy / chocolate bar will do just fine, mate.

We had no idea of how many kids we'd get here. On most bases you get LOTS of kids simply because it's safe. (Besides having a big, well guarded fence between them and the rest of the world) there were lots of roving USAF security personnel keeping things safe , and not getting out of hand. But it rained very hard , so we only got about 75. (Any body know how to preserve lots of left over candy?) [:D]

Yes. It can be properly "preserved" in one's gullet. Try it! [;)]

Also found out that my younger son is deathly allergic to blue crab...

My Matrix Pro League team jumped out to a good start against fodder, it is a long time until Monday night, though...

Good Morning! Van still isn't fixed, but you can't complain too much with the price being what it is to fix it!

I see that. I didn't know you had players in last nights game.

I also didn't know that Chickenboy was trying to get me to trade away some of my best players for nothing.

So not true. I offered you some delightful mediocrity in exchange for your pride and joy. [:-]
