That is unique. I get that at least once a battle. Annoying when it happens after the first casualty of the platoon early in the game. My units are either veteran or elite too. I feel it happens too much for just loss of one unit.
There are literally hundreds of examples when an entire attack is called off with the loss of one or two vehciles, or a few men. In real life men want to live to get home to their families. In wargames they all become heroes.
Good Hunting.

But isn't that what variable morale levels are for in the first place MR? If not, then why have them?
Yes, that was my point Michael. That those things happen. That, "I feel it happens too much for just loss of one unit", isn't unusual at all. If fact except in large battles which are very much in the minority in WWII, the loss of a few pieces of equipment or men can represent a serious loss and stop an attack. Battles the size of Kursk, Stalingrad, Destruction of Army Group Center, etc...were rare compared to the myriad of company and battalion sized engagements that took place on a daily basis.
Sorry that my post was confusing. I hope I managed to get my point across better this time.
BTW, you and I haven't played any PCK yet......[:D]
Good Hunting.

Okay, now I'm being confusing. What I meant to say was, if you DON'T want troops turning back after losing just one or two tanks, you dial up the morale to VETERAN or ELITE in order to prevent that kind of thing, but if you want them to be that brittle, you keep them at REGULAR or GREEN or whatever.
I don't think I'd be much of a challenge for you in PC - but I'll tell you what; once the map making dudes are finished with their Squad Leader experiments and have a decent recreation of Hill 621 - send me a set up. [:D]

Yeah, it would be nice to have a Hill 621 ... it would be really nice to have a
decent Hill 621 ... at least to scale. [:(]

One thing I would like all wargames to have is an historical on off switch. Sometimes I'd like to play a game with equal forces. In CM you couldn't play matchups with Captured units as an equal battle because Soviets got penalised for poor ammo quality. Add in the order delays and arty delays and it gets tough to play as Soviet.

The worst CMBB scenario I ever played was one where the captured T-34/76's of SS PG Division "Das Reich" fought Soviet T-34/76's of the same type. The German ones rounds penetrated the Soviet tanks but the Soviet rounds wouldn't penetrate the German T-34's and they were exactly the same vehicles.
