20th, July
Several Oscars sweep chinese cities, but no bomber attack today. In fact, since several months ago, the only jap planes I have seen over Chinas have been some Oscars, and no more than 20? Lilys... Where are the others ? The Ki-51 ? Nates ? [&:][&:]
20 FF over Port Moresby got 1 port hits, but suffer one B-17D down and 6 more damaged.... [8|]. LOL... They faced 15 Zeros...
At China, the 66th Corps (the Megacorps), stormed one RGC division: 618 to 1, making little child Jesus cry...However the unit is not destroyed...
Some japs units are moving (fast) to the rear guard...well. It can be a result of my (first) Chinese Offensive, from Changsha through Nanyang, aiming to take both cities...
We'll see..
Oh !!! And the Chinese Corps transfered to Burma has began its offensive movements, too.. [:D]

Oh!! and the 5th Chinese Corps has entered at TOUNGOO where I have found the 14th Tank Regiment, 33 Division and III/4th Inf Bn, entreched...Now the battle for Burma has began !!!
BTW: japanese ASW air assets are improving: Today SS GUDGEON was hit and it's trying to make port at China...94 sys dmg by recon airplanes !!! OMG....

SS PICKEREL sinks from the dmg taken by an asw air patrol [:@]
Cats and Falcons put some bombs at the xAP YOSHINO MARU ( 2 bomb hits, on fire, hd) , and DMS W-9, ( 1 bomb hit, on fire, hd ).

Well, well, with the only lost of a single xAKL Tarawa is now on my hands. It'll take some time turn it onte a fortress and develop the tiny islands around Tarawa to make a jumping zone against the Marshalls, but the first step is made. The jap lose 11 unescorted Bettys to attack my ships with zero hits. And tomorrow I expect capture Ocean Islands...

Isn´t it too soon for those landings? I mean the "Jap" could go away to you from there anytime.
Greetings.

Yes, but currently he is VERY late in the standard schedule: Ambon, Kendari, and Dili are mine. Sumatra is mine (Palembang is fully fortified, with a lot of A.V.), at Burma he is at Toungoo, and I'm attacking. At China Nanyang has fallen to my mighty armies....He is fully hands now. Tarawa doesn't worth the fuel to move the troops...and, if he does it, it'will take him a lot of effort: Two US infantry regiments, one CD unit, one base force, and a lot of seebees incoming...He'll need a division... Would you send a division to take Tarawa if Palembang is not yours at 7/42 ???

Yes, you are all right. Seydlitz is in a BIG PROBLEM. He is "out of date" with a lot of cities in your hands....buuuuf I foresee a looooooong & haaaaaaard winter for the Japanese, and this only will get worse from now.

More troops unloading at Tarawa. My plan is turn Tarawa into a fortress, and use Abebama as a fighter base to cover Tarawa (and the zone ). Tabitouea will be converted in a bomber base, from where the bombers of VII Air Force will began to pummel near japanese bases...
A secondary attack over OCEAN ISLAND with three bons of Marines has been a failure,, but no real loses here, so, I'll pack and run to the security of my lines...
Today, PROME falls to the 1st Burma Division, and I'm currently advancing towards RANGOON.
xAKL KALGAN was down near TRIVANDRUM by the SS I-176. ASW vessels have been sending to Ceylan to reinforce the units currently there.
xAKL GEORGIAN was sank too near Noumea, but the Kingfisher located at the base hit the SS, so I expect she will be out of service out for a while. However, more japs SS had been spotted near Noumea...Looks like Seydlitz thinks it's one of my main bases here. But, with the Tarawa'offensive, the center of gravity is more near to P.H. than OZ...

Still a great AAR Traskott, not sure about the Tarawa gambit, any way to capture some islands between it and the SLOC in addition to Abebama, for a backstop so to speak. I'm also interested in where his carriers are now maybe at palmebang??

I'm free to take all the islands back from Tarawa to Pago Pago or Fidji (well, in fact, A LOT of them have been mine since the beggining of the game ). The trick now is the work of the seebees, to put them in good condition to be frontline bases

[blockquote]27th, 28th and 29th, July:
KIUKIANG FALLS !!! . The japanese are now in trouble at China, with Nanyang and Kiukiang on my hands, I'm one river closer of my strategic goal: The sea !!!
Coen AF is now size 2. Soon Horn Islands will be bombarded by my B-25 units, which have been training for this for 6 months...
Several waves of F.F. over Port Moresby have found light-medium resistance ( 10-15 Zeros ). Airstrip is damaged, but not closed. However, I'm preventing Seydlitz to turn P.M. onto a fortress... 8th A.I.F. division has now 250 A.V. and its prepping to Horn Islands (Torres Strait ). Portland Roads will be developed with a size 2 airstrip and a good port, to be ready for the jump.
A new assault at Oosthaven!!! The K.B. is here !!! . A massive attack with 115 vals had the outcome of 10 downed and 63 dmg...that's a lot of planes !!!. Seydlitz has arrived with THREE inf. regiments, plus the 7th Ind. SNLF Coy. Desert Rats will shock attack til death, and more armoured troops are about to arrive...AK KINKA MARU heavy damaged by one torpedo of my PT-Boats. Zeros over the zone butchered the last air units available here...
At Tarawa, the landing of support troops goes on. The tiny size of the port (lvl1) make this a bit annoying, but...well... now I know KB is at JAVA, I'm feeling myself a bit relaxed....
Submarine War: No hits. SS I-25 and SS I-24 reported hit.

More Vals over the port ( 85 ), with 7 destroyed and 85 damaged...
SS I-7 reported hit, near Tarawa.
DD Stronghold sank near Colombo by the SS I-176. Its fellowship DD Thanet hits seven times the enemy SS with depth charges...

31th, July..
My PT boats tried to intercept the enemy convoys at Oosthaven, but all what I get was a lousy dud on my sig...eh...doesn't mind...
PG WARREGO sank by SS I-26 near Norfolk Islands on route to Australia..
Enemy CVs KAGA and HIRYU spotted near Oosthaven. 50 Vals attacked my positions: 5 downed, 45 dmg...omg..excellent.
Enemy LCUs reported at Oosthaven: 53 Division, plus 21, 20 and 56 Infantry Regiments... Now he has more A.V. than me, but my tanks will attack again. His lack of AT weapons hurts !!
At Australia, my B-25s began to bombard Horn Island, as Coen got AF to size 2...it's time to train them with real bullets !!!

1th, August
My dutch bombers and a pair of Cats tried to launch night attacks over the enemy ships and failed...
SS STINGRAY gets a dud over DD FUMIZUKI... Damn !!!
21st Division gets ashore at Oosthaven [:o]. They are here now, boys...
SS KX launch 4 torpedos to CVL ZUIHO. FAIL.
CAPITAL SHIPS SPOTTED: CVL ZUIHO, BB YAMASHIRO, BB KIRISHIMA, BB HIEI, CA MIKUMA, CS CHIYODA.
More vals over Oosthaven to another 6th destroyed and 33 damaged...Well, he can be a lot of vals but not pilots !!!
ooooooh... : CVL RYUJO is HIT by one of my DUTCH SS ( KVII perhaps ) with one torpedo!!. Excellent.
Well, now the land battle for Sumatra begins. I have 380 AV at Oosthaven, but my main bet are the 700 A.V. I have at Palembang plus forti5...He'll need a lot of troops to subdue that position !!!.
At China, I have bombarded Wuchang. I have 800 A.V. and the japanese one divion plus one Independent Brigade, with 700 A.V. Inconquerable, but now I'm into, it's time to stop the production...

I doubt he can take Palembang with that kind of fort level and AV. By this time, he can have bought many units out to throw into the fray BUT with the issues he has in China, my guess is he put many of them there. Even if he has the strength, make it as costly in TIME as you can. You are very close to having good torpedoes and he is way behind on getting liquid cargoes to the HI. I've got two very different PBEMs going that are both in 8/42 and I know that fuel absolutely has to be a problem for him already because he has not taken Palembang.
I assume you have engineers in Palembang so even if he takes it, I bet it will be heavily damaged. Then he will have two choices- use fuel to make supplies to fix the oil and/or refineries, OR not fix them and not get as much oil/fuel from Palembang. His late arrival in the SRA is going to doom him sooner rather than later...
