Steiner, I've been meaning to ask; have you ever been in a Turkish prison?

Yes, in 1970. I was caught smuggling Turkish Peanut Brittle out of Turkey. It was a dark and stormy night...

Thanks Snoopy

Well that's my lot, just the 2 hours after I should have gone to bed - Corporal Steiner you have been great as ever. Don't forget, if you find out the time, get the smoke signals started. I have taken a leaf out of Elizabeth I's book and set up a chain of look-outs in boats all across the Atlantic. Each has a beacon that can be lit when they see the signal.

Good luck, we're all counting on you.

LOL. I wondered when we would be gossiped about. [:D]

You might think that we are engaged in some top secret plot, involving coded messages.

Well it would be nice if others joined in, but sadly with the exception of Orm, no one seems to want to get on the banter bus. Oh well....

Why indeed? I know you have to much integrity to inflate post counts.

"Quetion" does not exist

Yes, actually it does. But what is a Quetion? Is it:

A) A town in French Canada
B) A vital part of a Flangebracket - which is the machine used to make Brazilian Peanut Brittle
C) The word question, accidentally spelt without the S by Warspite1

Answers on a postcard - please attach a cheque for £50 entrance fee to the quiz.

Que?

I did not follow the BPB induced "So your going for C? Oh dear..... "

The obvious answer is B

Warspite1

There was no BPB inducement - you said I was waiting for you to see the error of your ways - ergo and theretofore - I deduced that you were saying C was correct i.e. I had simply spelt Question incorrectly.

As to your latest answer. How could you of all people not know that??

From the fourth part of Ambroses' 1997 Trilogy: How to make Brazilian Peanut Brittle:

"The most common way to make Peanut Brittle is to stick the Peanut and Brittle composite into a Flangebracket. However, this machine requires a Fletion, a vital part that makes the wheels on the Flangebracket go around. As the Fletion is made from Peanut Brittle, a lack of forward planning in the summer of 1939 meant that so much Peanut Brittle was sold, that there was insufficient Peanut Brittle available to make the Fletions; which in turn meant the Flangebracket was unworkable; which of course meant that they couldn't make the Peanut Brittle. This incident led to the great Peanut Brittle shortage of 1939, and many people believe that this was the catalyst for the outbreak of World War II".

So the answer is not B.

I know what you're thinking. "Did I have two guesses or only one? Do I have another £50 to blow on trying Answer A - or could the answer still be C" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as I am holding in my hand a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?
