This is the first of two encounters......in the second one Lepus is finally sunk.

This time the CD guns at Rabaul are relatively accurate. I'm getting hits even before landing anybody.

Those Dutch bombers are finding their targets. I've got some CAP inbound but they're not there quite yet.

The next time I try to invade somewhere I need to remember to include some air cover for the forces involved.

At least my Nate's have found something they can do.

The mop-up of Manila survivors continues. There's a couple more ships to get but that should be the end of them, I'm guessing.

The sweeping of Clark Field continues. Maybe a few more days like today and then a week more.

Those Allied ships must look awfully tiny from 15,000 feet up. Maybe I should try a little lower. Say 1,000 feet.

My air cover should be arriving any day now.

The Nate's are outnumbered so the Hudson's are getting through. It's not looking good right now. I may have to concede this airfield.

I starting to think that one CVL isn't enough of a force to try to project force in this part of the world right now.

Once again I got lucky and there were no hits on my ships so far. He's going to connect one of these days.

Again, sheer blind luck saved my ship at Tarakan. It's just a matter of time before these attacks are successful......that's why air cover is needed badly.

Not really...dutch exp and skills are really low.  Takes a lot of luck to get hits.

Even untrained pilots can easily get very good hit rate when flying low level (1 bomb hit out of 5 at least).

But I wouldn't worry about 2 Dutch bomber flying low level. Or P-35s, when 100 lb bombs can just scrath the paint of cruisers.
