Impulse: 11
This impulse - and with Fine weather - is the one that is likely to kill the French. Another three attacks are to be launched which, if successful, will see the French almost finished - notwithstanding the number of units they will get next turn....
In desperation Georges tries for defensive HQ Support. There is no point holding back any longer....

There are four attacks this impulse; the three in France and one in China. The Chinese attack first:
The odds are 3:1 no modifiers and will take place on the Assault Table....
...its an 8. The Chinese defenders are destroyed. Chairman Mao and his Communists are almost wiped out....
....at long last there is a US Entry Chit for a captured Chinese city [X(]

To France then. Apart from one impulse, the Germans have been very lucky with the weather, and they have generally had good dice to support their air and land attacks. Against that combination I guess there not much the French can do....
The first attack is east of Paris and is a 7:1 +1 on the Blitz Table...
...This is an automatic victory and the Germans get a breakthrough

The final attack, southeast of Boulogne, is the most important. It's a 5:1 +1 on the Blitz Table....
...its another 7. Its one of those games for the French I'm afraid.

The Germans are now feeling bold and take a chance. In an effort to destroy the best French fighter they exploit the breakthrough offered. The 46th Mechanised Corps pushes onto the hex northwest of Paris. In so doing the Germans vacate Lille, but there is no French unit to occupy the hex next impulse.

Impulse: 1
The Western Allies catch a break and get the first impulse. The CW have to choose a CW as they need their fleet at sea but also need to move the BEF. The French have the chance to try and shore up the defences of Paris as much as possible - and maybe even pinch out the salient created by the 46th Mechanised Corps northeast of Paris.

What a rubbish start.... The Soviets decide to send two bombers to Helsinki for ground strike purposes. The Finns decide to hold back their fighter until the ground support phase. Only problem with that is the the fighter has then been ground struck...[8|]
Mannerheim and the fighter are disorganised.

Looks like 2-3 impulses in May/June will see Finland absorbed into the USSR, and France ground into subjugation by Germany.

Impulse: 1
In France the lightning advance of the Germans at the end of the turn has left their fighters well behind the front. There is little that they can do to save the 46th Mechanised Corps and so decide not to put good aircraft after bad. The French increase the odds a notch thanks to their bomber.

Yes, the initiative that has helped the Soviets against Finland has also helped the French who should be able to destroy a German mechanised unit. However the latter should be a temporary reprieve..

Helsinki first. The odds are 3:1 +1 on the Assault Table....
...its an 8. Helsinki is captured by the Soviets!
