No to the North Sea and yes to the Eastern Mediterranean. I use Bari to make the search - her crew have been eating lots of carrots for the purpose.

Will Italy send out their fighter?

So Italy has four surprise points. Want to use them to choose naval combat type or save them for later? Naval air combat is a likely choice unless you spend the points here.

No. And it is to late to send out aircraft for this round anyway.
