Larry, I think I see your problem in Italy - you are defending too far back. Try holding a line in say Central Italy as opposed to the Ukraine....

Yeah, I seem to have posted in the wrong thread. I moved it but it's too late you've
already seen it. And about the bourbon....I prefer medical marijuana to alcohol. I'm using
the strain that doesn't have a lot of THC so you don't get high but the CBD's in it relax
you and soothes your nerves. It's for my PTSD and it's working so far. I feel a lot better
than I used to.

Yeah, I posted in the wrong thread again. I do that when I get tired. I have since taken a nap
and fixed it. It happened after I had been at the computer about 14 hours in a stint and the
lines were starting to blur and I started having a lot of data drop outs and things happen. I
find that I've started to dream about the game so I guess it really matters to me. It's about
the seventh time I've restarted D21 lately and I really want the one I'm on now to be the good one.

Here's what it looked like at the end of Brian's turn. He did some attacking and
I heard the movement of troops. He's getting set up for another big push somewhere.

Here's what it looks like now that I have moved all my troops. He's probably going
to study the front lines and look at each of my stacks to find a weak spot and try
to exploit it. He's like that.

I've moved in by rail a division from northern Italy and it took two turns to get here
from there and I moved them into position this turn so that the British might not be
able to outflank me any more. That's the theory.

I notice that Brian likes to stack his people up cherry red. He gets more attack power
that way but the losses are horrendous.

Some attacking on the west side and some movement in the east but other than that
it was just like last turn.

Too bad you do not have more air power to attack those stacks.

Brian didn't do any attacking this turn but there was the sound of moving units on Sicily and the mainland.

I agree. What I need is a squadron or two of B-29's. Germany didn't have any heavy
bombers of the capacity of the Allied heavy bombers. The best the Krouts had was
the Ju-88 and He-111 both of which were considered medium bombers at the time.

My air fleet is badly outnumbered and outgunned and I'm loosing in every combat which
involves aircraft. And I can't replace them as fast as Brian can. His industry is
facilitating massive amounts of equipment of every kind and description.

But soon the Reich will have the V-1 and the tide of the war will change. I've got the
R&D people working on a SCUD kind of weapon but progress is slow.

Were either of those missiles actually employed in the Italian theater, or were they all just used to bombard England?

Hi DanNeely, thanks for your question. I actually don't know much aboout the V-1 but I think
the range was so short that they just reached London and weren't all that accurate and that
several V-1's were shot down by Allied planes. So my understanding is that they were used
against the British isles and nowhere else but I'm pretty sure they could duplicate the launch
equipment and use them in Russia or Italy. It wasn't until the V-2 that the Germans had a weapon
that couldn't be shot down but still it wasn't all that accurate. If I remember correctly. the
Germans experimented with a radio controled plane that was used as a bomb in that the plane was
deliberately flown into a collision with the target and there were problems with controling it
and nothing came of the procedure. They did develop a robot tank device that was less than the
size of a small car and was driven into it's target by a wire connection and the range was so
short that it wasn't practical and it wasn't used all that much.

Brian did some nasty attacks and almost blew a hole in my lines. He gained a hex and
I'm going to have to adjust the lines to fix it.

Brian's attack left an armour unit in the hex by itself and I did a three-dot attack
and regined the hex. The front lines are restored. Brian is just going to attack
the same place again and push me back again.

Off the top of my head the Germans mainly used the V-1 against England but used the V-2 extensively against England and Antwerp and even shot a few at the Ludendorf bridge at Reamagen. They did have a radio controlled bomb that they used to sink at least one Italian BB Roma when it was being turned over to the allies as part of the Italian surrender agreement. The fact that I can do this off the top of my head is a clear indication that I need to get out more.

Sure enough Brian attacked again and gained a hex again. I suspect that this is
going to happen each turn.

Hey there Mike dude, thanks for asking the question. I really haven't probed that subject
a lot and it deserves a photo study so I put together this: I've decided to move everybody.

Here's all the aircraft, their condition, and their mission right now. I'vw got most
of the planes up near Rome or near Taranto or Foggia just to keep them out of the fight
since they are so outnumbered and out gunned. I need them for the defense of Rome so
I'm saving them.

Here's a view of the streaming of the Axis troops back to the next MLR's north. I've
left a token force in the old front line to enable the rest of them to disengage.

Looks like a good place to hold the Allies, it is in length which should help you as well.

What software do you use to make your images? I'm using LibreOffice, which limits the size of my images.
