I take issue with your analysis of Bataan/Corregidor, which are treated in this game as the same hex/base, so when Bataan falls, Corregidor also falls. You pointed out that eventually the other American commands in PI followed Wainwrights orders to surrender so what I said was true with a slight delay. You pointed out that was not the case in Malaya as Singapore fell last, that's why I did not site Malaya/Singapore as an example. However, again my Dutch example was valid as well as there are many empty or undefended hexes that in RL were Japanese once the nation surrendered, long before every base/dot were taken and did not require many mini-invasion to take them. The major point of contention might lay in India when and if how many base/VPs would have to fall before the Indian national movement started a revolt. I am not asking that a new mod be developed but an agreement between opponents would suffice. maybe a partial remedy would be to allow partial para troop elements to be dropped on these isolated/empty bases in order to flip them sooner and if occupied by a surrender enemy nation the unit be put in strategic or rest mode so they don't fight, since their nation had already surrendered. The Japanese didn't surrender until September 45 so this did happen to them once they surrendered as a nation with still 5 million plus troops overseas, everything was automatically surrendered.

Strategic mode will fight but with a malus. Rest mode will fight as well if they are the only unit.

That is why many people will have units in strategic mode on a rail line so the can move quickly to reinforce a position.

I am Fred's current opponent who picked up this game I think in April 42.

Viewers should be aware that the Brisbane Evening Star is nothing more than the mouthpiece for the imperialistic Allied coalition lead by the bombastic General MacArthur. Some truth but mostly lies, half truths and fake news to raise the hopes of it's readers.

Reading the Star about all the Imperial Japanese Navy warships sunk one would think the IJN is down to a few destroyers and sampans to fight off the Allies. Of all the ships that the Brisbane Evening Star reported as sunk maybe only 15% were really lost. Yes, ships have been damaged by enemy action but they mostly get to a repair port and are back in action or are about to be back in service.

Take the latest headline from the Star "USS North Carolina Avenged". Ha! Yes, HIJMS Hiei was hit by 3 torpedoes fired by an American submarine. Hiei was damaged but made Makassar the next day and then on to a repair port. (this pic is about 2 weeks ahead of the latest Star publication) In a couple of months it will be the Hiei extracting revenge.

And on another front, there are almost 100,000 Commonwealth troops with lots of artillery and lots of vehicles just SouthEast of Moulmein who are in big trouble.

Just want to say I've been following along for some time and I'm really enjoying the Brisbane Evening Star. The war in Southeast Asia looks particularly interesting.

I am pleased (and a little wistfull) to announce that Matt (he's from down under) has agreed to take over as my Japanese opponent from Terry. I thank Terry for pleasant cooperation and an interesting game. He has given Matt a very good base to start from. With that this thread shall live on, as shall the Brisbane Evening Star, hopefully for a very long time.

Was this the Tojo resignation moment? Glad that this will go on and I want to renew my subscription for the duration of the war.
