It's still
T105 round 3 and the Romanians have made a tiny little progress but the RR arty isn't as helpful as it might be. I've been using
3-dot attacks with them and they always run into the yellow after that first volley. So I have to rest them to prepare them for the turn following. And the Romanians are so worn down from the constant attacking that they are down to about
1/4 their original strength. I've decided I need more arty for this situation.

It's now
T106 round 1 and this is what it looks like around
Moscow right now. I checked the deployment of all my aircraft and pressed "." enough times to find all the embarked units to disembark them all and then went through all the units broken down into pieces to see if I can put them back together, and now I'm moving the units and I'm about
1/3 the way through the order of battle moving units. The weather is about 3/10 cloudy with rain and a few scattered T-storms. The supply level is excellent and I have
19.7K HRS's assigned.

It's now
T106 round 3 and this is what it looks like around
Moscow right now. I've managed to drive a path completely around the city and so now it's isolated from the rest of Russia. So now I just need to squeeze the pocket down to nothing and capture the city. And I have no idea how long that might take. I can't remember if there's a supply source inside the pocket or not. I'll have to stop the Soviet turn and take a look.

It's now
T107 round 4 and this is what it looks like around
Moscow right now. I've managed to position a ring of units around the city and I'm slowly pounding the pocket with my HQ arty and whatever Corps HQ units there are within range. It would be really great if all the Soviet units in the pocket were overextended on supply right about now. The tighter I squeeze the pocket the taller the Soviet stacks tend to be.

It's now
T108 round 3 and this is what it looks like around
Moscow right now. I've managed to drive some probing fingers of units by breaking through the Soviet lines in a couple of weak spots. There are a couple of weak spots still and I think I might have two more rounds this turn so maybe it'll look even better this time next turn. Repaired rails are two hexes away from
Moscow so supply is still excellent. It's still raining cats and dogs and mud is still an issue.

It's now
T109 round 3 and this is what it looks like around
Moscow right now. I've managed to squeeze the pocket down a tiny bit and I'm adjacent to the city finally. The rain stopped but it's still plenty cloudy. The defenders inside the pocket are getting worn down slowly. My units are busy mopping up to the east of Moscow.

It's still
T109 round 3 and this is what it looks like near
Rostov right now. I've managed to capture all the crossings over the river leading south and the Romanians and Hungarians finally managed to force their way across the river crossing just south of
Rostov and are expanding their footprint south of the city.

It's now
T110 round 2 and this is what it looks like near
Moscow right now. I've managed to squeeze the pocket a tiny bit and the mop up to the east of the city is ongoing. It's raining cats and dogs again complete with T-storms and light hail. Very windy. I'm concentrating on the city itself to cut off the supply to the rest of the Soviet units.

It's now
T111 round 1 and this is what it looks like near
Moscow right now. I'm stripping off units and moving them to the east as the mop up at Moscow winds down. I'm not real sure how far east I should go. I've got
20.4K HRS's assigned and
602 HRS's on hand. It's still raining cats and dogs and overcast for the most part. The supply levels are great even as far east as
Orekhovo-Zuyevo but starts to dip until it's
2 at the tip of the spear. I may have to put the advance on hold until the supply levels are great enough for operations.

It's now
T111 round 3 and I just now captured
Moscow. The pocket is getting smaller each turn. I should be through with this operation in a couple more turns. And then all these guys can do something else.

It's now
the Soviet T112 round 2 and I thought I'd stop the Soviet turn to check out whether or not the Soviet units inside the pocket have supply or not and I see that they do not. That's a good thing. You can see for yourselves that there are no supply bubbles for the Soviets inside the pocket. This project should conclude in a turn or two.

It's now
T113 round 3 and I just now captured
Moscow and destroyed
ALL the Soviet defenders. And the good part is that the rail that passes through
Moscow is already repaired so now
Berlin is connected to
Moscow. I'm going to move
OKH to
Moscow to take advantage of the airfields of which there are many. Those Corps HQ units that don't have any arty is what I use to cheer up the aircrews. AGN, AGC, AGS, and one Finn unit that might perhaps work out okie dokie. I've got
20.3K HRS's assigned and
604 HRS's on hand right now. It's about 1/10 rainy and the past rain has produced a lot of mud. It makes movement tricky.

It's still
T113 round 3 and I thought maybe I should show you what the front lines look like right now. I'm advancing into areas that don't have enough supply to continue forward. I'm debating whether or not to bypass those areas. All those troops and all that equipment at
Moscow now needs to be redeployed to those areas that need more troops. I've railed two whole divisions to the
Rostov area already earlier this turn. If I have any rail cap left over that's where I'll send them.

It's still
T113 round 3 and this is what's going on west of
Gorky right now. This is an area
NE of
Moscow about
20 hexes away. I'm so far away from a repaired rail that the supply level drops to almost nothing at the tip of the spear. I may have to wait for a turn or two for the supply level to rise enough to sustain operations.

It's still
T113 round 3 and this is what's going on west of
Stalingrad right now. I'm still fighting over the river crossings and I'm not making much headway. By the way, that Soviet stack sitting on the river hex directly west of
Stalingrad isn't guarding a crossing, it's using an engineer unit to leap the river and get into my backfield and I stopped his progress. I was thinking of maybe assaulting the city from the south but the supply level is nonexistant from that direction.

It's now
T114 round 1 and this is what's going on
NE of
Moscow right now. I've got the supply bubbles turned on to give me a guide to where the low-supply areas are so that I don't just wonder off into the wilderness like someone one egg short of a dozen. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer. All hat and no cattle. All confidence and no skill set. All horsepower and no steering wheel. On the edge of being a waste of human flesh. The typical act of a brandnew
PFC all pumped up with bravado and is actually a danger to himself and those around him. The kind of guy that volunteers for point all the time.

It's now
T115 round 1 and this is what's going on east of
Moscow right now. I've got the supply bubbles turned on to give me a guide to where the low-supply areas are. It's about
4/10 partly cloudy but no rain. It's late July so I imagine that it's steaming hot out there with maybe a light summer breeze. The rails are being repaired slowly but the supply levels haven't increased very much. Before I get much further the supply levels simply have to be high enough so my units aren't overextended.

It's still
T115 round 1 and this is what's going on
NW of
Stalingrad right now. Another couple of Soviet units spawned where the original one spawned on the left in the image. I'm slowly dealing with them and fortunately, they did very little damage to my backfield. Meanwhile, on the right in the image, I'm doing some mop up and fighting over a major river crossing. I need the rail line that leads through
Serafimovich,
Mikhaylovka,
Novoanninsky, and
Povorino. That will connect me to the already repaired rail line. I do have an already repaired rail ( in the upper left of the image ), but as you can see it terminates there and it isn't anywhere close enough to be truely useful. There is another repaired rail in the upper right of this image which IS close enough to be useful and I've got some Corps HQ units busy repairing it as fast as they can go. It's
20 on and
4 off for them lately.

It's now
T116 round 1 and this is what's going on out in the middle of nowhere right now. As you can see the Soviet units are kinda sparse and are easily surrounded and destroyed. Progress is rapid in this
AO. I have
20.8K HRS's assigned and
597 HRS's on hand. It's about
2/10 cloudy with a few scattered rain showers.

It's still
T116 round 1 and this is what's going on
SE of
Rostov right now. I railed about
6 Infantry divisions here from
Moscow and as soon as they disembark they will be a much welcomed boost to this
AO. It's about
1/10 scattered clouds and very few rain clouds with
3 T-storms on the entire map.
