My uncle died just before Christmas after long long battle with cancer and heart disease... today is the funeral...

His name was Dragutin and we had nice memorial service yesterday (Sunday) in his church...

My condolences, Leo. This is a tough time of year to lose someone. My father passed away on Christmas Eve, 22 years ago. The best we can do is celebrate their lives and go on living our lives to the fullest! [:)]

Another Christmas eve done. Spent it with my mom as usual.
It's a bit melancholy these days. She'll turn 79 in January, and every Christmas I can't help but wonder if it'll be the last we have together.
Sorry if I'm bringing people down, but there it is.

My father is 81 and in poor health. The writing is on the wall. I'm just trying to get in what time and experiences I can before it's too late. Not bringing us down, it's just 'life', dude. I hear 'ya.
The thing about having loved ones in an advanced age is it should spur us to make the most of the time we have left , rather than feel miserable about how little time we have . And to celebrate how much they've enriched our lives already. [:)]
