And for your edification:

Dio Chrysostom d. after A.D. 112, Greek Sophist and orator [Chrysostom=golden-mouthed], b. Prusa (modern Bursa) in Bithynia. He lived at Rome under Emperor Domitian, who subsequently banished him. He traveled widely, finally returning to Rome in the favor of emperors Nerva and Trajan. He leaned toward the philosophy of the Cynics and Stoics. With Plutarch he shared in the revival of Greek literature in the 1st cent. Extant are 80 orations on literary, political, and philosophical subjects.

Well, just got back from Origins, the home of the greasy twitchers (that's what we call all those weirdos that inhabit that joint).

Not bad.  I spent most of the time at the Matrix games booth.  I did pick up the new Civil War game.  Looks interesting.  Good time filler for those "no turn in the inbox" times. [:D]  My brother-in-law came from NJ for his annual trek to these parts to go to Origins.  My son and his friend came along too.

There was one chick in a chain mail bikini top. [X(]

The surprise engagement of the evening...A combined task force of the Dutch Piet Hein, the US Alden and the Brittish Danae and Express have a shockingly close encounter with a massive IJN bombardment force...not to be rattled though the crew of the Danae get off the first shot fire torpedos at point blank range at Yamashiro...and hit. ...then all heck breaks loose as everything from 14" guns to 12.7 mm AAG open fire at 2000 yards...a fierce a lengthy exchange follows ...during which Piet Hein and Alden are quickly overwhelmed. ...and Danae and Express steam away at top speed.

Though there mission was to bombard Kuching the IJN admiral couldn't let the RN ships slip away and orders their pursuit.[:@] The IJN closes to within 4000 yards but can get no closer, running at top speed the RN ships hope for the best . as shells start splashing down around them. Danae returns fire with her rear turret ....

At this range all the IJN guns, including the 6" on Ise and Yamashiro, can't penetrate Danae's thick armor (Thank God for good English steel [;)])...Unfortunately for Express the Japanese finally land a hit...she begins to fall behind. and she is slowly blasted into oblivion by Ise...meanwhile aboard the Danae the captain is working feverishly to squeeze every last bit of speed from his ship. and manages to open the distance to 5,000 yards...but curse it. Yamashiro finally lands a hit with her 14" guns....the hit damages the engines and Danae is slowly overtaken by her pursuers...she is pummelled by shells, but still only one more 14" barage manages to punch through her armor...with luck the captain spots fog and makes for it...finally, with all guns knocked out and badly damaged Danae slips away.

The IJN fleet managed only 1 runway hit in the bombardment of Kuching [8|]

and Danae is in port hoping to repair the damage... three cheers for her crew....and a toast to fallen comrades.
