Another day has passed and Brad decides to rest again his units and make the bombers do the job. Several waves of 2Es, precedeed by several Sweeps, attack my brave guys. Damage and distruption is pretty light and i can breathe another day. My air force is resting at Mandalay.
 
 

The 6 CVs that are upgrading should be all ready within the next 10 days, along with 30 DDs, 5 CAs and 3 BBs. In 20 days i hope to have the KB re-united again at Bab, where now my 6 operative CVs are resting and refilling their air groups.
 
The american CVs must be back to Oz by now. They are out of my view anyway.
 
I'm tempted to send the Yamato back to the yards for her upgrades...but i think i'll wait for the coming out of the Kongos and Haruna from the HI yards before doing that.
 
Some 40 bombers suddenly appeared at Colombo. Don't like this... will keep an aye of what they are doing. A Nick Sentai is transfered to Port Blair...just in case he wants to try a Long Range bombing mission of the Adamans.

That may be true but the over-ocean search arc range is still limted to 12 hexes (it's hardcoded). You may still spot ships in the target hex of a recon mission. That may be what happened here.

One of the great treats for an Allied player is the arrival of the PB4Y long-range reconnaisance squadron. I recall one game where I owned Merauke at the time the squadron became available. I moved it there and began reconnaisance of Truk and, if I recall correctly, Babeldaob. It can really unnerve an IJ player to have those "way in the rear" bases suddenly under scrutiny.

This makes sense ... Since I too have had groups find things at longer ranges .. the Cap although is quoting that 12 hexes is teh meximum range hardcoded and although he does not read the manual he pays attention to the game .. so at one time was this true?

At one time it was true that he didn't read the manual, but once recently he was subjected to sensory deprivation conditions and had to for the sake of survival. [:D]

Another quiet day. In Burma we gained one more day and our troops are marching like the devil was on their heels.
In the Pacific, the americans are exploiting as much as they can their advance in the Bismark Sea. Hansa Bay is already at level 2 AF.
i'll try to send some more supplies to New Guinea now, cause soon, very soon, those waters will be interdicted.
We sunk, with subs, the CM salem near Molu. He's clearly heavily mining the base, while 200 bombers bombed Saumlaki.
 
We are doing our best to reinforce the chain of little islands from Truk to the Mariannas. Don't wanna let him any easy picking.
Think his next target will be Manus... then we'll see what he wanna do... nothing will be easy for him from there on

September 10 has been a great day for the Empire.
3 great air battles raged all over the map and we are happy to say that we won them all.
By the end of the day 340 enemy planes have been shot down, for the loss of "only" 95 japanese fighters and, more important, ONLY 25 pilots! BANZAI!!!


...and in Burma the line HELD against another enemy assault!

Ok, here's the story:

I saw another Indian division coming down from Kalemyo. Yesterday it arrived in the contested hex, so i was waiting for another big push today. For sure it would have been supported by the whole Indian Air Army. I had to provide all the possible cover to my guys, fighting now against more than 40,000 enemies (3 Ind. Divisions, 1 Chinese Divisions and one tank regiment).
I ordered a massive LRCAP. everything i had was put in place.... and a HUGE air battle raged all over the morning...

And then, when the last burning enemy plane was falling down in the jungle, the indian divisions attacked....
The "C" regiment of the 3rd THAI Division suffered badly...but the line HELD wonderfully! Having the Burma HQ and the 15th Army HQ in range really helped. No distruption among my men...so it was really worth the sacrifice of those brave aviators...
We nearly got a 3-1 in our favour... AMAZING!
And now, in less than a week, the "A" regiment of the 16th Crack Division will arrive, along with an artillery Battallion with pieces of 10.4 cm....

Clearly from the description you outguessed him in Burma (and got a bit lucky his sweeps came in late). Did you also outguess him on the other two bases, or have you been waiting with CAP/LRCAP for some time?
