You put 200 mines at Darwin and the Japs sail 10 ships right up to the doorstep and nobody hits a mine. But you put TWO mines at Batu Phat and a DD plows into the thing. [:)] I've seen this over an over again. It's as if it is a surprise. [:)] It isn't just an offensive vs defensive minefield either because I have seen an enemy base mined and 200 ships come and go without a hit.

Meanwhile JJ have over 150 bombers at Rabaul and 100 fighters. These appear to be most of the Zekes and Netties from Kendari, whcih is not well protected now. [:)]
