Pffft. Crossing the channel is barely overseas[:D] If you want to go overseas, come visit us.[8D]
T will need to cross the North Sea to get to the UK. The only thing the Channel separates us from is Le France. So he's technically going over a sea. [;)]

Hi all,
ORIGINAL: Terminus
Done with my planning for next week's London trip. Should be very cool; it'll be (believe it or not) my first overseas vacation alone.
How will you travel Kristian?
Did you arrange some hotel in London or you will try to manage at the site?

Anyone interested in a bit of fantasy football (or soccer if you prefer to call it that) this season?
Martin, is that on-line football-manager type of game (and free to boot)?
I used to love such games but haven't played those since late 1980's and early 1990's...
Yep, free. There are probably other ones but the one we're using at work is
http://fantasy.premierleague.com/
If we can get enough interest then we can set up a little private Thread League.
Thanks for info Martin - I will check it out! [:)]

Hi all,
Last night we attemnded nice open air (i.e. free) concert of:
"Yamato - Drummers of Japan"
http://www.yamato.jp/info/e_index.html
at main square of our city (it was unofficial "Thank You" from Japan for our help with big earthquake that happened in Japan this year)!
It was very nice although the rain was drizzling (i was downpour before the concert but luckily it stopped)! [:)]
BTW we were at the:
"Kodo"
http://www.kodo.or.jp/news/index_en.html
concert 2 years ago and liked it very much as well (IMHO they are better and more traditional than "Yamato")!

Ryanair to London Stansted and then a hotel in Bayswater, central London. Had to book well in advance; can't sleep on a bench in Hyde Park, y'know.

Nice! [:)]
It shouldn't be too expensive overall including flight and hotel (although single rooms are always more expensive than double ones)...
Have a great London trip - we expect pictures here! [:D]

It's not too bad. The flight's about £150. About £200 for 4 nights at the hotel with full English breakfast.
I'll be paying for a so-called Oyster Card to get around on the Underground and DLR as well, but that's a pay-as-you-go thing. Then there's admissions, which are quite reasonable (a couple of the places are actually free). And food and a spot of shopping.
Just hoping for nice weather. Well, dry weather and not too hot.

I read in on-line UK newspapers that they think that summer is finally coming... temperatures of around +25 degrees Centigrade and sunny weather (IIRC they think thus far it was one of the coldest and rainiest summers in recent history)...

Who needs a permit when you've got the money to buy a big boat?

That much money is a permit in itself usually.

Unfortunately true... and there are a lot of accidents every year because of this fact.
